Just then, Lucian and Elizabeth came to stop in front of them. They stepped out of the horse and Elizabeth's eyes widened with excitement.
Anna also noticed how Lucian looked excited at the Idea of hunting for fairies.
"I believe you haven't seen a fairy before." Lucian spoke to her.
"See...." Elizabeth brought out a small shiny stone and mirror. "We can use this to lure them."
Seeing the shiny stone, Anna had the sudden urge to touch it. She wanted to feel how hard it was in her hand. But then she fought against the urge. Doing little things like this can lead to suspicious.
Elizabeth brought out a box from her bag and placed it on the ground. She unlocked the small lock to showcase different kinds of syringe. The placement of the syringe made Anna anxious. What was this for?
"These are used to get the fairies to sleep once we lure them with these shiny stones." She muttered.
"Brother help me sprinkle this around the forest and put the stones near it." Elizabeth handed a transparent bottle containing green substance to Lucian.
"How come you know about these baits?" Lucian asked.
"I read books about it last night." She stood up and offered another bottle to Anna.
Anna held onto the bottle in fear. She would go alone to sprinkle it and once she was deep into the forest, she would discard it.
Each step she took, she turned around to see if anyone was following her. Unfortunately for her, Lucian came to walk with her.
She turned around startled.
"Don't fret." He smirked. "I won't hurt you...." not now, he said the remaining words to himself.
"You and your brother don't get along. Is something wrong?" She asked as she tried to hide the bottle in her dress and pretend she was sprinkling some.
"Uhm....." He chuckled. "We have been great rivals since years now."
"Why? What originated the fight?" She asked curiously.
"Well...." He cleared his throat. "It started since when our parents died. They were murdered in cold blood by one of us."
Anna looked at him in shock. She was so convinced that Marcos was behind the murder. But why would he do such? Why would he decide to kill his parents?
"But why would any of you chose to kill your parents?" She asked.
"For selfish reasons I guess." He laughed.
Anna sighed. She secretly disposed the bottle without Lucian knowing anything.
"I hope you too can work it out." Anna said.
"Guys!" Elizabeth shouted.
They both turned around to se the young girl careful in her steps.
Suddenly, Elizabeth had her dagger against the fairy. Anna looked at the fairy; she had long dark hair which was shining and her skin was flawless. Her beautiful wings was cut off her back and was laying on the ground.
It was the first time Anna was seeing a fairy and she didn't know to react. Should she be excited seeing her kind for the first time?
Suddenly, troops of fairies launched into the path Elizabeth was standing. They flew in the air with their wings to attack Elizabeth. When Lucian and Marcos saw this, they picked up their guns and began to shoot them one after the other.
Anna was watching the others fight the fairies while she stood frozen not wanting to take part in it. Just then one of the fairies came to stand behind her.
She nearly jumped in fear of seeing the fairy. It was a beautiful woman with pure white eyes and shining black hair. She started walking towards Anna, making her move into the deepest part of the forest.
The fairy had a frown on her face as she hadn't recognized Anna to be her kind. "You must be so foolish to think a frail human like you can come to our land to attack us."
"Don't misunderstand me. I only came here to watch and not to hurt anyone. Why would I hurt my—" She paused to rethink what she was about to say and decide it was best not to reveal her identity. What if the fairy leaked it out to the others?
"I will be very pleased to use your body for cosmetic the way you stupid humans to do us." The fairy sneered.
Anna looked at the others and saw how they were shooting down so many fairies. She wanted the killing to stop.
"You don't know who I am." She took another step backward. If she didn't do something right now the fairy might attack her, considering the blue veins that have to start appear on her face.
"A human. I know one when I see them." The fairy hissed, making Anna flinch in fear. "Enough of this playing around. I should kill you same way your people are trying to kill my people."
The fairy raised her hand to slam her making Anna move away from there, causing the tree to crack.
Anna started to run deep into the forest far away from the others. The fresh mud on the ground made it hard for her to run fast as she almost tripped once.
The fairy was faster than her as it flew with its wings towards her and it didn't take long before she caught her.
Taking hold of Anna's hair, the fairy pulled her against a tree making her back head to start bleeding.
Anna cried out in pains when the fairy pushed her body to collide with another tree. She fell onto the ground bleeding heavily.
The fairy came down and started to walk towards Anna. Her movements was slow and steady as she approached Anna. As the fairy was about to grab Anna by her hair, she heard the sound of gunshot through the air.
Hearing no footsteps approaching her, Anna turned around to see the fairy laying on the ground.
When her eyes met with fairy eyes, the woman didn't blink away as she continued to stare at Anna confused. Anna looked into the water on the ground subconsciously and saw her own reflection. There was blue veins coated in her skin which was caused by her anger when the fairy attacked her.
She quickly buried her face in the mud when she heard Marcos and the others approached her.
Feeling her skin start to turn dry and rough, her eyes widened with surprise. No... This wasn't happening right now, Anna thought.
When Marcos moved closer, she pushed him away and stood up to run deep into the forest.
