Perhaps it was because he was no longer only a brother, friend, son, or leader. He was married to Monica, the woman he swore to love and protect forever and with whom he had developed a deep, personal relationship. He respected her, loved her unconditionally, and jealousy looked out for her welfare. Together with mom and Julius, the couple diligently watched over the children and ensured they had a delightful time, fulfilling their roles as the beloved aunt and uncle.
It had been entirely coincidental that Alton had more multiples than Alisa and I. Bennett, Bernard, and Benjamin, his three lively and endearing boys, were only four years old when they already showed signs of being heartbreakers. He was a proud and loving father to them all.
