Chapter 49
Myrah's POV
I was by myself, holding a wine glass, in a place away from the crowd. It had been offered to me by a sweet server, and I found it difficult to decline him because of his sweetness.
I uncomfortably grinned while glancing at the wine. A small taste wouldn't hurt. I most certainly wouldn't become wasted after only one sip. I forced a firm swallow before turning to glance around.
I didn't feel like I had anyone's attention. The other people I knew had disappeared, and Mom had left me for some Asian businessman. Maybe no one would notice if I got drunk because I didn't know who half the people in the room were.
Who exactly was I joking with? It was more difficult than I anticipated to be a billionaire's daughter and a billionaire's wife. I had to live up to everyone's expectations, especially in public, because they all knew who I was. Making headlines was the last thing on my mind.
