Everyone knows what Venierreaze is, it's terrible that's what. Anyone who willingly chooses to live here is a psychopath. Though my sister Evyna thinks differently, she doesn't even live here. She's a princess of the Evynans on a planet of her own, a planet known as Ithakar. The Evynans are classified as an elite race and scary, to be honest. They can basically warp and manipulate space matter. She could literally form a black hole to swallow all of Venierreaze, but of course, that wouldn't be fun for her.
Although Evyna isn't my actual sister by blood, she's always been there for me like a sister. Gemini can't actually be blood-related as we're created from a gem that we're given at birth and with the power our queen has, she constructs our bodies with the gem as our core. However, there is a rare occurrence when a Gemini makes love with a person of another race and they have a baby with both races in their blood, which is Evyna's case.
Everyone has always told me I'm special because of the gem I received, apparently they believe I wasn't born with a standard gem like other Gemini, but rather a crystal that our queen Emily found wandering in space. I don't think that's possible, but that's what they say.
So yeah, that's my existence in a nutshell. Venierreaze is a 'kill or be killed' kind of planet. I honestly don't even know why I moved here, actually, I do, because I met the love of my life. Whether we're meant to be together forever or not, I don't know, but one thing's for sure, this is my new home.
Death City, Zatarrie
"I'll be home at 22!", I called out to Christian. "Where are you going?", he questioned suspiciously. "Calm down, I'm not going shopping. I have a photo shoot to do for Anastasia's new clothing line", I assured him as I walked out the door. "Well be safe!", he quickly shouted before the door slammed shut.
I don't even bother locking the door when he's home. If anyone wants to break in, that's their life, not mine.
We've been staying at our penthouse in Central DC since Christian's had to keep a low profile. Honestly, I don't care as long as I have a roof over my head.
Entering the elevator, a random guy stopped the doors as they were closing. "Sorry, just in a rush", he uselessly explained. I nodded awkwardly, cause sometimes I don't know whether to act like I care or not. We stood silently before he shuffled and turned his dark figure toward me. He's not very tall compared to me as I'm about 6 feet; most Gemini are.
"Do I know you?", he finally spoke. I lifted my cheeks lightly in an uncomfortable grin. "Trust me, if I don't recognize you, we don't know each other", I replied bluntly, realizing afterward that that might've sounded rude. "No need to be feisty, girl", he teased retardedly. "I'm sorry, do I look like a little girl? I'm over a hundred even though I don't look like it", I threw a fake smile. "You see this? It's a little friend of mine. Want it?", he started acting suspiciously. "No thanks, I have a husband", I moved away from him. "Oh I know", he muttered, striking me with the little gadget in his hand faster than I could blink. I instinctively launched toward him, both of us hitting the elevator floor. I was about to wack him in the head when the ball he threw at me popped and released a gas in the air. He pulled out a mask, immediately covering his face. Within a couple of seconds, my consciousness was fading until my eyelids slipped shut.
2 Hours Later
I heard faint mumbling as I woke up. My vision was hazy and I felt like I couldn't talk. Trying to get words out, I failed. Then I felt a hand rest on my chest. I heard some intelligible muttering while they traced their fingers along my chest.
"Are you awake?", a female voice asked me. "Her vitals say she is conscious", someone else informed her. "Well, let's begin then, shall we?", the same female voice spoke. "No", a raspy response managed to escape my mouth. The hand jolted as if startled by my reaction. "No? That's odd, most patients aren't this aware after being sedated", she inferred to the other person. "I… I'm… not most patients", I attempted to speak, feeling sick while doing so. "Oh, I'm well aware of that. You are a one-of-a-kind Gemini", she said, more as a thought to herself. I tried speaking but I just ended up nodding my head around speaking nonsensically. "She's a fighter", the other person seemed to be pleased. I wasn't entirely sure whether the other voice was male or female, it sounded like a little bit of both.
After running some tests and doing random stuff to me, my consciousness began to return. I moved my head and limbs around to get the feel of my body again.
"She's gaining consciousness! Sedate her!", the other voice exasperated. Almost instantly a needle was driven through my neck and I fell limp again, the strength in my body failing once more. No matter how hard I tried, the sedative they were using was too potent.
"Put her under", the female voice commanded. A second later, a mask-like shape covered my mouth and nose. My mind started to drift away, I couldn't think or see clearly. It all just went black.
