Chapter 21 - ROSALIND HAVANA

Later that night,

Sasha was dressed in a very sexy lingerie. She lay on the bed waiting for Lucian to finish up in the shower.

Lucian enters and goes to Sasha. He switches off the lights and the rest shall be left to the betterment of your imagination.

It feels great to be back in Parkville, I missed this place. I opened my wardrobe and memories came rushing in.

' Hey Ari! Let's binge watch MSA! Ashley got icecream cake and soda.' Riona called from downstairs.

Now that is an offer I can't refuse. Arian was crawling behind me and I only lifted him when it was time to descend the stairs. The doctor said I should let him be on the ground, it increases his chances of standing.

' And what are we meant to do? You don't expect the men of the house to watch MSA with you.' Raymond says with contempt.

' Hmph! What is wrong with MSA? If you don't like it leave.' Riona replies.

' Calm down Juliet. I will watch whatever you want.' Raymond says as he sits next to her.

' How hard is it to say Riona? It's a simple 5-letter word. R-i-o-n-a!' Riona says groaning.

I think she would get used to it soon. Fred offered to hold Arian who was sitting on the floor touching random icons on my phone. I think he's gonna love computers in the future.

' Nah! Doctor says he needs to be able to adapt to moving on his own.' I say.

It's heartwarming to see guys who have no prejudice to a single Mom. That's why I like Raymond and Fred alot ( Not in that way.). They are better than someone I know.

Ken had been secretly hoping that Arianna would come back and apologize. Even on that day, all would have been forgotten if she had apologized. Ken made a resolution; if the new year starts without Arianna's apology, he wouldn't forgive her.

A week later,

Sasha and Lucian are on their two- months honeymoon in California.

Sasha was happy to the moon. Her life was perfect.

Perfect Husband, perfect home and she would soon have a perfect daughter.

Now nothing could go wrong.

***************

We were all going to the airport. Fred and Raymond were returning to Chicago while Rio, Ash, Arian and I were headed to Havana Graceland.

' Take care of yourselves and my little man.' Raymond says.

' We'll see you soon ' Fred says.

We said our goodbyes and then we entered one of the family's planes. It had the family emblem on its body. Our family's emblem was the green rose. There are many of them in Havana Graceland but they are actually very rare in the world.

We entered the plane and sat down.

We played board games, watched movies, ate and slept.

The plane ride was an nine hours journey and we were relieved when we finally arrived.

After Riona discovered our family secret, she began coming with us every December to Havana Graceland.

We had the plan ready.

Arian's father, my ex-boyfriend, moved to Russia a few weeks before I discovered I was pregnant. Arian was a premature delivery ( I gave birth to him on the seventh month) and I made Ashley and Riona promise not to say anything.

' Breanna! Olivia! Riona!' I heard the non- mistakable accentful voice of my mother cry out.

And yes, Breanna is Ashley's middle name. I don't know why the older generation prefer the old-fashioned names.

Mom and Dad walk to us and they halt in their tracks when they see me holding Arian.

' Bonne soirée papa et maman.' I greeted in French.

( Translation: Good evening Dad and mum.)

Did I mention mom is from Paris.

' Tu as eu un bebe?' Mom says I shock.

( Translation: You had a baby?)

' Let's talk inside.' Dad said coming to my rescue.

Moments later,

I was standing in grandmother's study with Arian on the floor holding my bag. Mom and Dad were seated and the opposite seat was empty.

Brace yourself Arianna, you can't falter in front of grandmother. This is for your son.

I told myself.

' So you have finally done it, Olivia.' I heard that stern voice say in her British accent. Rosalind Havana, my grandmother, the matriarch of the Havana family.

' Hello, Grandmother.' I greet lowering my head.

Arian mimics me, he lowered his head and talked gibberish.

I can see dad trying to stifle a smile.

Arian busies himself with crawling around with my bag.

' Who's the baby's father?' Grandmother asks straightforwardly.

' Grandmother, I gave my word that I shall not mention his name as long as I live. Do not worry, he won't come back to Parkville, he is permanently residing in New Zealand.' I reply.

' How old is the child?' Grandmother asks.

' He will be seven months on the 30th of this month.' I replied.

' When did you realise you were pregnant?' Grandmother asks 'about two weeks before my 17th birthday.' I replied.

Grandmother thought for a while before saying. ' That's not up to 9 months '

' He was born two months before the due date.' I replied.

' What are your plans for the child?' Grandmother asks.

' I have my savings, when it's time for him to start school I will enroll him in a good kindergarten and I will continue my college education.' I replied.

' You still want to go through with college?' Grandmother asks.

' Yes grandmother, the world is changing. Education is power. Besides, Arian is my motivation to succeed not an obstruction in my path to success.' I replied.

Just then I hear my phone ring.

Arian opens my bag and gets the phone, he then crawls to me and touch my feet.

' Oma.. tome!' He says as he stretches the phone to me.

' Thank you Arian.' I say and he starts laughing.

' He is smart. He has a bright future.' Grandmother says.

Oh my darling baby, you have just won over grandmother's heart.

' What's his name?' Grandmother asks.

' Arian Havana.' I replied.

Grandmother narrowed her eyes at me. ' I believe you have a middle name.' She says.

Sh*t! Think Arianna, Think! I have always liked the name Aiden.

' Of course he does. Arian Aiden Havana.' I reply.

' Very well, go to your quarters. I will see you later' Grandmother says.

But Arian crawls to her and touches her feet.

Arian! What are you doing? I thought panicking.

But Arian just gave her a biscuit and said ' dah'

Whatever that means. And then he lowered his head and talked gibberish, just like we did when we were greeting earlier.

And then, grandmother smiled.

Was I in heaven? My grandmother actually knows how to smile.

' You trained him well.' She said.

I took Arian and was about to leave when Dad said,

' Wait!!'

I turned around. I knew that I would go through a second round of interrogation with mom and dad.

' How old were you when you found out you were pregnant?' Dad asks.

' It was a few weeks before my 17th birthday.' I replied.

' So you were 16?' Dad says.

' Yes.' I replied wondering why he was asking.

All of a sudden dad jumped up and punched the air saying a big yes.

Why was he so happy?
