The following week...
"A student is transferring to our school," Milky said excitedly, standing in front of Ezra, her hands on the desk. This was right before class.
"A new student? Close to the exam?" Arthur said. This was suspicious.
"You only arrived a few weeks ago, you aren't different," Milk said sassily.
"But it is strange," Ezra mutters.
"I heard the transfer student is a female Alpha that came from a prestigious school," a classmate said, joining in their classmate.
He was the person who told Ezra the news of the Dumas family finding the real son, wanting some response from Ezra.
Arthur frowned. 'Why do I have a bad feeling about this?' he thought.
Ezra smelled the scent of burnt caramel, and he smiled happily. Arthur also smelled it and his face scrunched up angrily.
"I know who it is," he said in a low voice.
Milky raised an eyebrow confusedly. Apart from her, who else could get such a reaction from Arthur? They must be a legend.
"Okay, everyone settles down," their homeroom teacher said, tapping his note on the desk. "Many of you know that we have a new student from Livyman Academy... I expect you all to behave yourselves and try to make her comfortable around here." Once the teacher finished speaking, Candice came in.
She wasn't very properly dressed. She turned to the class and smiled at them, she obviously had a bit of makeup on her face. "Hello everyone, I'm Candice Dumas. Nice to meet you all," she said.
'She gives me bad girl vibes,' Milky thought. 'Wait, did she say Dumas?' She turned around to look at Ezra and Arthur. Arthur had this cold look on his face, while Ezra looked happy. It makes sense now.
Lunch Time...
Candice poked at the food she bought from the cafeteria. She then looks at Arthur and Ezra's lunchboxes, they look better than whatever she was served. "Can I have some of yours?" she asked.
"Sure," Ezra said handing her his lunch.
Arthur looks at her even colder. "Why are you here?" he asked.
"Guess," Candice said rolling her eyes.
Arthur knew why she was there and sneered. 'Of course, it's him.'
Ezra felt a bit left out of the conversation, he just smiled cluelessly. 'Is she saying that Mr. Dumas sent her here?' he thought confusedly.
Milky came and smacked their table. Her head was down and she was looked at in confusion. She raised her head with a smile and raised her hand for a handshake. "I'm Milky, nice to meet you," she said.
Candice looked at her and then glanced at Arthur and Ezra. Ezra doesn't look uncomfortable, and her brother is annoyed by her presence. "Nice to meet you too, milky," she said with a smile, shaking her hand elegantly.
Milky then sat next to Ezra. "So what are you guys doing after school?" she asked tapping the table gently.
"I have archery practice," Ezra replied.
"I'm waiting for him," Arthur said watching Ezra take his fork and eat out of his food
"Oh," Milky said, her mouth forming an 'o' shape.
Candice's mouth opened in disbelief. She doesn't want to wait for that long. However, Mr. Dumas would be angry if she left early. She could just lie, but there's no way she could lie to that man, she isn't his only spy, someone might also be spying on her to keep her in check.
"Ugh!" she groans in despair. It's not like she tells him the full truth of her discussions with Arthur.
"Is something wrong?" Ezra asked her worried.
Candice looks at him tiredly. "I'll be fine," she said. She wishes she and Ezra were real siblings, he's the perfect older brother for someone like her. Instead, she got Arthur, who only wants to use her to get information from the Dumas family, like her father.
She began to eat. 'Not bad,' she thought as she continued eating.
"What were you thinking of?" Arthur asked, raising an eyebrow.
Candice looked him in the eyes and said blankly, "I wish I had a better brother like Ezra."
Arthur didn't care, however, Ezra was worried. "Is Arthur being mean to you?" she asked.
Candice sighed and looked at him pitifully. "No," she said sadly. She was acting and Ezra knew it. He will not force Arthur to get along with Candice, they will do so when it is time for them to do so.
"But that's normal," Milky said. She has an older and younger brother and all three of them don't get along for long.
'She doesn't get it,' Candice thought, looking at Milky even more closely, she looks like a girl who has the perfect life. It makes her jealous. The food no longer tasted good as her mouth was bitter with jealousy.
