Chapter 14 - Caged

Olivia stood up with a small smile. "And then I will have my way."

'The female lead comes to meet Jolene...an endorsement deal? I still don't remember the reason why the female lead is willingly giving a big opportunity to Jolene.'

'Well, let's see. Now, it's good that I know how this comic world is. It will be easy to relate to these fake people and act like Jolene.'

'Going back to what I have stated earlier, perhaps, the female lead is chummy with Jolene. I can't really say. Why do I have such a bad memory? My head aches...'

Olivia hissed as she walked through the corridors and finally arrived at the elegant living room with plush furniture and sparkling chandeliers.

As her eyes became fixed on the gorgeous woman, seated decently, hands delicately holding a glass of fruit juice, she murmured, 'What does an idol want from an ugly being?'

Olivia took her seat.

'I will give the author credit. He does know how to craft a gorgeous woman. In this fake reality, the female lead even looks more gorgeous.'

'Why am I even bothered?'

Seraphina's expression brightened as she saw Olivia take a seat. She slowly dropped the glass on the centre table and then leaned back to the settee. "Miss Jolene, right?"

"Affirmative," Olivia answered with a tone void of emotions. "Since you are here to see me, there is no time to delay any further. I do have a lot of reading to do."

Seraphina wasn'r expecting the blunt words from the woman in front of her but she immediately hid her emotions with a cute smile that made Olivia want to pull off her tongue.

"I had no idea Miss Jolene likes read—"

"Do you mean for someone rumoured to suffer from dyslexia, reading is too much?"

Seraphina was flustered and she cleared her throat, determined to clear any misunderstanding between her and the woman in front of her.

This was not something she wanted to do but this was her last opportunity.

That is, Miss Jolene was the only one who could help her since she was connected to Mr Wang.

"Miss Jolene, I think there is a misunderstanding here. However, I think it is okay to have such a misunderstanding given that this is our second time meeting."

Olivia nodded, recalling that she had read the part where Seraphina had spoken to Jolene who was just an actress hoping to play as a remarkable cast.

Seraphina on the other hand was surprised at Miss Jolene's attitude. Miss Jolene knew who she was, however she still had the courage to talk to her in such a manner?

If only Seraphina did not need Jolene's help.

Before their discussion could prolong, as Seraphina felt she was only going to disrespect herself, she didn't beat around the bush this time. "Miss Jolene, I am here for something important. I need your help."

"In return for an endorsement deal? Well, I am not interested."

Seraphina's mouth opened slowly before she brought herself to talk, "Well, that was quite unexpected. To rectify your assumption, I wasn't planning for this but if this is what you want in return, I will help...for something even better."

Olivia wanted to reply that she just told her she was not interested, but something the female lead had said made her confused.

'She isn't here for an endorsement deal? But the book states that the female lead is here to offer an endorsement deal...'

'Or is reality diverging from the comic narrative? The same as how the young man replaced the stranger?'

'What's going on?'

Olivia asked to be sure. "You are not here for an endorsement deal, Miss Seraphina?"

"No, I am not. I am here to request help from you. And I chose you because it is related to your fiance."

"The young man?" Olivia's brows creased and Seraphina's brows did the same.

Understanding Seraphina's question, Olivia corrected herself. "Mr Wang?"

"Yes. I have no idea about your relationship and I do not think you might render any help since this does not directly concern you, however, this is very important to me. And I think you might be in danger too. Before anything bad happens, I just want to do what I can."

Olivia watched Seraphina stand up from the settee, to be further surprised when the woman walked to where she sat and sat beside her.

Seraphina slowly held Olivia's both hands and pleaded, "Please, Miss Jolene, this is very important to me. I will be forever indebted if you can help me."

'This is definitely out of the comic line,' Olivia mused before she retraced her hands and ordered, "Speak."

Seraphina breathed hard before she started her story.

"My sister, Amelia Xu, is missing. I need your help to find her."

"How does that—"

"She was once Mr Wang's fiancee, however, six months ago, an argument ensued and then they both broke up. Amelia didn't tell me what happened.

However, the same morning when she left for Mr Wang's place, she called me that she thought something was wrong and I should help her but before I could ask, her phone went off…

I was worried. When I traced her location, I saw her phone in a bin not so far from this villa.

Surprising me, later in the day, I saw a news article that Mr Wang seems to have a connection with the heir to Yu business.

It is...Nevertheless...my sister has been missing since that time. I just want to find her. I have informed the media, the police and all but my sister suddenly became a ghost, untraceable."

A tear fell down Seraphina's check and she wiped it off almost immediately.

Olivia asked, unaffected, "Are you blaming Mr Wang for your sister's disappearance?"

Seraphina blinked before she shook her head in disapproval, "No, no. Miss Jolene, I am not blaming him. I just think he is somehow involved in it or knows something and Mr Wang is a very powerful man...I don't know but you know what I mean...even though he is the culprit, there is no way the law will catch up with him."

Olivia slowly dropped her gaze back to Seraphina, "I asked, Miss Seraphina Xu, how is this related to me?"

"I think there is a reason Mr Wang has you caged in his Villa."
