The three days of preparation passed more quickly than expected. Everyone was busy solving the problems assigned to them, so there was little time to observe what was happening in the classroom. June's group was no exception. They spent most of their time discussing the scenario, and after three days of intense planning and discussion, they gathered all the data they needed to tackle the presentation.
The day of the presentation had finally arrived. The venue of the presentation for the explorer's department was in the orientation hall, the hall was filled with chairs for all the students to sit. But unlike normal presentations that first come to mind, this presentation would be done in the simulation chamber.
The Valorious Academy uses advanced simulation chambers in their presentations, unlike the typical PowerPoint presentations. The simulation pods immerse the team in a virtual world, where the team leader acts as a guide and deploys strategies to tackle the scenario. Meanwhile, a panel of judges continues to make minor changes. And then finally the strategy, plan and dynamic thinking of the leader as well as the teamwork and individual performance of each teammate are evaluated to give the final score.
After the rules were explained the teams began to ascend one by one on the stage to begin their presentations. The scenarios for other teams were also equally challenging. Like the first team scenario that was being trapped in a maze, at first it looked quite easy but the number of traps, fake routes and the risk of separating due to sudden closing walls made the challenge very hard. But since the group was led by Princess along with Ethan they had no problem clearing the scenario.
Ahiro was quite excited about the next team as it was the team Melvin was part of. The team comprised 2 girls and 3 boys, personally Ahiro didn't know any of the group members but he knew they all had gotten to at least the second round during the competition. Melvin's scenario was very similar to their own, they had to also make sure to survive along with a few NPCs {A/n: Characters who are not part of a team played by AI}. But unlike a deserted Island, they had to survive in a deserted city that was now overgrown by Awakened plants.
The awakened species that they went against was called Dionaea homocipula { A/n: Dionaea muscipula = Venus flytrap, a carnivorous plant, and Dionaea homocipula = "venus human trap"}
It was a literal human-eating plan but throughout the whole scenario, their team would stand back while Melvin single-handedly took care of all Awakened plants because one shot from his awakened ability would fry the whole plant inside out burning the roots and node in a single strike. The only thing his team did was gather food items sometimes or bandage the wounded survivors that they had gathered on their way, but overall their team was only carried by Melvin.
They took a total of 5 days to clear the scenario, but outside the simulation, it was only 2.5 hrs. During this, the major events were being shown on the screen for all other students to see.
After Melvin's team, it was finally their chance, as Melvin's team was getting down Ahiro stepped forward to tell Melvin that his performance was very good but Melvin turned his head around and left to sit with his team. Such a turn of events shocked Ahiro but he had no time to dwell on it as they had to enter the simulation chamber to start the presentation.
The simulation chamber was nothing more than a black room that was illuminated by very light blue lights. There were a total of 8 pod-like beds inside the room among which 3 were occupied by judges Professor Gia, Savant and Stonehart. They were already wearing the simulation helmet that helped to connect the virtual world, while tiny drones were constantly hovering around them to take live updation of vitals.
One of the assistant professors stepped forward and instructed all of us to lie down, soon all the team members were wearing simulation helmets and as soon as they closed their eyes they were transported into the simulated world.
As they opened their eyes they found themself amidst a shipwreck clinging on to broken wood to survive during high waves. But soon their vision turned black and next they were on the coast of the island.
"Wow the virtual reality of Valorius Academy is too realistic" Anna said as she touched all around to feel different things.
"Anna don't touch anything now, first check whether any of you are injured" said June taking her role as leader.
"None for me" "Same here" "No injuries" everyone replied one by one.
"OK now let's start with phase one of our plan, as discussed we will first rescue all the survivors since we know there will be 20 and make sure we find them all, I will take Anna with me to the left and the rest of you to right follow along the cost and gather all survivors you can find. " June gave her first orders.
"Yes, leader" they saluted and started carrying out the orders.
After three hrs if searching the team gathered again but this time all 25 had gathered.
"Reporting mam, we have found all the survivors and also carried any material that seems to be useful" reported Ahiro while saluting June.
"No of injured" asked June in a crisp tone.
"7, 4 are minored injured, 2 with some deep wounds but will be treatable and one has a broken leg, Mam," replied Ahiro.
"Ask Ana and Zoe to look after them," said June. Ahiro saluted and went towards Anna.
"Owen you go and look for an area where we can have a temporary campsite" said June.
"Yes mam, I will begin the preparation ASAP" saluted Owen as he also went to do his task.
Meanwhile, all the survivors who weren't injured were sitting by the shade of the tree, seeing the kids running here and there treating the wounds of the injured also perplexed them.
"Umm ... Mam who are you kids" asked one of the men among the survivors finally unable to hide his curiosity.
"Oh, we are special unit 4th military. Don't worry we have the situation under control" said June with a Smile while conjuring a blade of ice and stabing it o the ground.
