Chapter 110 - Ruse

"Hey Anna can't you control the Awakened plants with your ability" asked Owen during one of the team meetings before the presentation.

"Unfortunately no, my ability is only a C-class, if I could take control of any plant I would already be a B-class and the ones who can control awakened plants are very rare AA-Ranker" sighed Anna as she continued "And my ability is called lets me have control over only plants that are related to vine category. If that plant is grown through my ability like from seed or sapling I have full control over it but for already grown vine-like plants I have only 30 - 40% control on them right now

"Oh so you are useless" teased Owen.

"Now is not the time to be teasing Owen, we need to come up with a plan to tackle the Awakened flowers. Based on the research Anna and Zoe did about awakened plants that can be on the island, we have around 12 known species that we can encounter, so we have to know each of their weakness and based on that come up with a plan to defeat them" said June. For the rest of 3 hrs, the group discussed the possible plans for tackling each awakened flora.

Discussing fighting tactics was Owen's time to shine, even if he seemed like a goofball he had a very tactical mind due to his military background. Anna and Zoe would one by one give details of each species and Owen would come up with a strategy based on our individual awakened ability to deal with it.

"Ok now that this is over we can easily pass the scenario if we can follow the plans I laid," said Owen with a smug look.

"Well the battle plan is near perfect, but I think there is one thing we are forgetting, the NPCs or survivors which will be played by AI. Do you think they would follow the orders of some 13 to 14-year-old children? " said Ahiro.

"Well you have a point, but I think if we show them that we have awakened powers they may follow us" replied Zoe.

"Well sure Awakened power may give us little credibility but not all people care for awakened people especially if we are kids," said Ahiro.

"What are you getting at Ahiro," asked June getting a hint that Ahiro had a certain plan.

"Well, we know the survivors will be played by highly advanced AI's that may have various personality traits, and just like humans, not all will follow awakened people blindly. That is why I am thinking what if we act like we are part of the military" said Ahiro.

"Clever Idea, Awakened personnel have much less age requirement to be admitted to the military and if on a deserted island, people see there are 5 military personnel they would be willing to follow them more easily than just regular awakened children" Owen praised Ahiro for his thinking.

"Hmm, I also agree with this, nice thinking. Owen can you come up with a suitable millatory rank and post for all of us so if any question arises we can tackle that" said June.

That is how the whole military shinanigan had begun. It was a simple step so others would follow their order more easily and back at the simulated island this little plan was working as intended.

After learning the 5 children were part of a special military squad, the tense look of many people eased up. This is pretty common as everyone looks up to the military as a symbol of protection.

The rest of the day also went smoothly after that, with the help of a few healthy people, Ahiro and Owen made a proper shelter and also lit fire for the night. After this Ahiro and Owen began to talk to everyone to get to know about each person's name and their skills.

Meanwhile, Zoe and Anna had tended to the wounded. The rations and any useful tools that were to be given were programmed to be placed along with washed-up debris. First aid was also among it and most of injury and wounds were taken care of using it. But there was also one with a broken leg, and no first aid could heal that, but Zoe had come up with a clever idea.

Her ability allowed her to manipulate the hardness of the material, she can turn something soft or hard. Using this ability she used bandages along with some wooden sticks to make a solid plaster for the person with broken bone.

"Here are the fishes" said June who had come after catching some fish. "how are the survivors"

"Most of them are sleeping, injured are in separate tents where Anna and Zoe are taking shifts to look out for them." Said Owen sitting standing near the campfire.

"Well everything is going according to plan, the no. of injured is more than expected but at least not all are seriously injured," said June as she sat down near the campfire.

"Escepicaily your military ruse seems very good Ahiro" whispered June to Ahiro who was cooking fish at the fire.

"Thank but we need to keep the ruse going," said Ahiro who turned around to look at June.

In the flickering glow of the campfire, June sat there with her white hair cascading like a cascade of moonlight. The flames dance and play upon her features, casting a soft, ethereal glow on her face. Her smile, like a secret shared with the night, curves delicately as if holding the promise of countless stars.

Ahiro can't help but be captivated by the contrast of her dark eyes, reflecting the flames, against the canvas of her alabaster hair. At that moment, surrounded by the wilderness and the whispers of the night, the soft radiance of her smile seems to illuminate more than just the darkness around them.

"Ahiro are you listening" said June making Ahiro realise that he had been staring at her without saying anything.

"Oh no I was just spaced out, Sorry" said Ahiro not understanding what had happened.

"Are you ok, we don't have to be so nervous relax and believe in the plan. And speaking of plan its time to start the second phase." said June as she stood up.
