Chapter 70 - Dual Begins

The morning sun cast a gentle glow over Valorius Academy as Ahiro woke up early, a sense of anticipation coursing through him. Today marked the beginning of the Intra Department Test—an event that had been looming on the horizon, and the excitement in the air was palpable.

Quickly checking his schedule, Ahiro noted that his own duel was scheduled for tomorrow. With one more day to prepare, he felt a mix of nerves and determination. However, today held a different focus as he wanted to support his friends in their matches.

Curious to know the schedule for His other friends, Ahiro navigated through the holographic interface to find the information he sought. He found Melvin's match was scheduled for 11, Sia's duel was set for 2 in the afternoon today and John and him had matches tomorrow. Checking the time Ahiro thought that this was a perfect opportunity for him to witness both matches and, in between, utilize the he could even use general training room to practice his skills.

After getting ready, Ahiro headed to the gym. During the intra-department test period, there were no regular classes scheduled including Physical training, but the gym remained open for students to practice and that too without spending any points. Ahiro saw it as an opportunity to follow his regular morning routine.

Ahiro decided to take a quick snack and head to the gym to follow his routine. Arriving at the gym, he greeted familiar faces engaged in their workouts. The atmosphere was charged with a collective focus as students worked out. Ahiro also started working out following his schedule.

As the gym echoed with the sounds of practice and determination, Ahiro felt a renewed sense of energy. The thought of upcoming duels rang through Ahiro's mind, as they were not just about individual tests but also a way in which Ahiiro could prove his own worth. With his own match on the horizon, he was determined to make the most of this final day of preparation.

After his session at the gym, Ahiro made his way to the arena, ready to support Melvin and Sia in their respective duels.

The Arena was built overnight somehow, and that to in the same place where they had their awakening training classes. Now it had been transformed into a bustling hub of activity as the duels commenced. The familiar field where students had honed their abilities during awakening training now hosted multiple dual grounds, each marked by a designated number. The field was divided into small, rectangular arenas, allowing four matches to take place simultaneously.

Surrounding dual areas were stands where students could sit and watch the matches unfold. The stands created an amphitheatre-like setup, providing an excellent view of the duels from every angle. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the students filled the stands, their cheers and anticipation adding to the vibrant energy of the arena.

Ahiro made his way to the stands. He quickly located Emily, who was already sitting with John and Sia. Joining the group, Ahiro felt the collective buzz of excitement in the air.

Ahiro Greated everyone as he took his seat,

John then said to Ahiro, "You're right on time. Melvin's match is about to begin in few minutes in Arena 2." He pointed towards an empty arena where Melvin's duel would take place.

"I'm looking forward to it," Ahiro replied, settling in for the spectacle.

as they waited for the match to begin John spoke about some of the good matches that took place till now, it seemed like John had been watching all the matches till now.

As the stands buzzed with conversation and anticipation, a whistle pierced the air, signalling the commencement of the next round of matches. Eight students emerged from the waiting area, Melvin among them. The crowd erupted into cheers and hoots as friends and supporters cheered for their chosen champions. Ahiro and his friends joined in, chanting Melvin's name at the top of their lungs.

Melvin, acknowledging the support as he walked from the stands, looked towards Ahiro and his friends and waved, a grin filled with confidence on his face.

The students were divided into pairs, positioning themselves on opposite ends of the arena, preparing for the matches to unfold. The tension in the air was palpable as the duelists readied themselves for the challenge, each step and movement echoing with the potential for victory and growth. The match of the duels was about to begin, setting the stage for an exciting series of clashes that would showcase the prowess of Valorius Academy's awakened students.

Ahiro shifted his attention to Arena 2, where Melvin faced his opponent, Conrad one of their classmate. Despite Conrad's unassuming appearance, Ahiro knew better than to underestimate anyone just by their looks. In the world of awakened abilities, looks could be deceiving, and every duel brought with it the potential for surprises.

As the anticipation reached its peak, the announcement resounded through the arena. Atop each dual ground, a drone emerged, its mechanical wings cutting through the air. The camera mounted on the drone focused intently on every movement below, ensuring that none of the action would be missed.

"Students ready," the announcer declared, the word echoing across the field. In response, a collective "yes" rippled through the participants, their readiness evident in the determined expressions on their faces.

"Prepare your abilities" came the next command, and the atmosphere crackled with energy. Each student, Melvin and Conrad included, began to prepare their awakened abilities. The arena transformed into a showcase of diverse talents—some students took stances with weapons, ready to engage in close combat, while others summoned elemental forces, preparing fireballs or rock spears to be unleashed at a moment's notice.

In Arena 2, Conrad and Melvin took steps back from each other to stand at a certain designated distance from each other, as the announcement rang, Conrad who had unassuming looks till now, his face stretched into a smile, opening his hands wide and he shouted at top of his lungs <>, as he began manifesting his ability.
