Chapter 47 - Physical Class

After Mr. Savant's lecture, the students were instructed to proceed to the training grounds for their physical training class. Ahiro and Melvin, along with their classmates, made their way to the designated area where Dracus Stoneheart, their physical training instructor, awaited them.

Dracus Stoneheart was an imposing figure, his physique made of rocks still as intimidating as the first time all students had seen him.

"Good Morning kiddos, this is your first Physical class, and I am your instructor and you would call me Sir Stone. understood" the teacher was commanded.

"Understood Sir Stone" everyone replied in unison.

"Now first change into the gym uniform, they will be placed inside the locker with your name. Go fast and come faster." Sir Stone shouted.

The students changed into their gym uniforms in the well-equipped changing room. The uniform adjusted to the wearer just like the school uniform did. It also displayed holographic badges on the chest area, indicating the wearer's year and rank.

Once everyone was dressed, they gathered in the training area, standing in neat rows. Dracus Stoneheart, towering over them, explained the day's agenda.

"Today, we'll begin with some basic exercises to assess your physical capabilities. The sensors in your uniforms will collect data during these exercises, which will be processed and made available to you later. This data will serve as a baseline for your physical development throughout the year."

"Alright, everyone," Dracus called out. "Let's start with some basic stretches. Follow my lead." He led the class in a series of stretches, ensuring they performed each movement correctly.

After the warm-up, Dracus moved on to more challenging exercises, including push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. He emphasized proper form and technique, encouraging the students to push their limits while maintaining safety.

The students were now drenched in sweat, even while the gym uniform provided the feature of sweat absorption Dracus exercises pushed them to thier limit, especially students like Melvin who seemed to struggle to keep up with the regime.

The sun beat down on the training grounds as the students continued their physical training under Dracus Stoneheart's watchful eye.

The workout went for a total of 3 hrs and it was already 2 in the afternoon. All students lay on the ground tired from all the workouts.

Dracus's stone face stretched to form a smile as if satisfied with his work, "all the data has been gathered for now, you will receive your own data within a few hours along with your personal diet as well as the regime that you would be following for next couple of months."

"Oh yes don't think you would not follow the diet as the canteen will only serve you food now based on your individual diet and if I find any student sharing his/her food with others, then he will be in for the hell" with that Dracus walked away laughing.

After the grueling physical training class, the students gathered at the academy's cafeteria. As they took their seats, trays of food were served in front of them, each meal tailored to their diet as told by Dracus Stoneheart earlier.

Ahiro's meal was modest, It consisted of a balanced mix of vegetables, lean proteins, and lots of fruits accompanied by accompanied by a large portion of shake.  On the other hand, Melvin's meal was significantly different. It was a low-calorie diet, aimed to lose his excess weight. His plate was filled with a variety of vegetables and fruits.

As Melvin took a bite of his meal, his face contorted in disappointment. "Ugh, this tastes like cardboard," he complained, pushing his food around the plate.

Ahiro couldn't help but chuckle at Melvin's reaction.

"Well at least, I devoured all the juicy meat yesterday when I heard about the diet system of the academy, But now, this," Melvin said sadly. He gestured to his plate, "is a culinary nightmare."

Emily, who had been quietly eating her meal, also giggled at Melvin's dramatics.

Ahiro took a bite of his own meal, finding it surprisingly palatable "I guess we'll have to get used to these healthier options," he said, trying to encourage Melvin.

Melvin sighed, "Yeah, I guess so. But I'll miss those juicy steaks."

Ahiro, changed the subject and asked, "So, what electives did you guys opt for?"

Melvin, still poking at his plate with mild dissatisfaction, replied, "I went for the two easiest ones I could find: Culinary and Awakened Theory. Figured they'd help me fill in the required criteria without too much hassle."

"I can understand Awakened Theory as it is said to be easy and most opted subject, but why cooking" ahiro asked.

Melvin with a wide smile replied "Because we get to eat whatever we cook," Ahiro and Emily couldn't help but sigh at his reply.

Melvin turned to Ahiro. "And you, Ahiro? What did you end up picking?"

Ahiro took a moment and replied, "I decided to take Wepon Combat Tactics, Technosynthesis,  And lastly, Archeology,"

Melvin, eyebrows raised with curiosity, turned to Ahiro and asked, "why would you chose Archeology as one of your optional subjects. No one else went for that one. Isn't it supposed to be a tough subject to crack, like with all those ancient language and stuff? Seems pretty hard to understand."

Ahiro, smiled and replied, "Yes i have read about it in academic form but it struck me as something really interesting so i really wanted to try it. ?"

Melvin, leaned back in his chair and said, "You know, you can try it out for a while, but if it gets too tough, you can always drop it. It's your third optional subject, not mandatory."

Ahiro appreciated Melvin's concern and nodded. "Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice."

Finally, Emily, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, spoke. "I, um, actually chose Archeology too."

Melvin sighed and turned towards Emily "I had a feeling you'd go for that one, Emily. It's the reason you came here in the first place, right?"

Emily blushed slightly, "Yes, it is."

Ahiro's face lit up with a smile as he turned to Emily, "So, it means we'll have at least one class together. What's your other choice Emilly?"

Emily was caught off guard by the sudden question, her mind racing to come up with an answer. "Um...I .. I ... choose Awakened Theory," she finally managed to respond.

Melvin's face lit up with excitement, "Great! That means we'll have a class together too."

The cafeteria buzzed with youthful energy as groups of friends made plans and enthusiastically discussed their dreams and aspirations. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter and joy, making the entire room feel alive with excitement.
