Chapter 29 - Awakened

Ahiro slowly opened his eyes, his surroundings unfamiliar. The room he was in resembled a hospital room, with its sterile white walls and the faint scent of antiseptic in the air. He groaned softly as he attempted to sit up, his mind racing to piece together the events that had led him here.

Ahiro thought to himself, "How little time has it been before I ended up in a hospital bed again?" His memory was hazy, like trying to grasp at fragments of a dream slipping away.

The last thing he could remember was the intense battle with Miss Rami and the fire-infused punch that had knocked him out. But now, he found himself in this unfamiliar place.

With a growing sense of confusion and curiosity, Ahiro knew that he needed answers. He decided to call out, hoping that someone would come and explain his current situation.

"Hello?" Ahiro's voice was weak, and he felt a slight soreness in his throat. "Is anyone there?"

The door to the unfamiliar room slowly creaked open, revealing the young doctor who had been overseeing Ahiro's tests for the past few days. A reassuring smile adorned the doctor's face as he entered.

"Ah, you're awake," the doctor said warmly. "You passed out, but don't worry, you're still in the ATR"

Ahiro blinked, trying to clear the fog in his mind. "What happened? How did I end up here?"

The doctor pulled up a nearby chair and took a seat, ready to explain. "During your test with Miss Rami, your barrier couldn't withstand her attack, and you lost consciousness. But that's not necessarily a bad thing one could really stand against her normally."

Ahiro nodded, his curiosity growing. "And what about the test results?"

The doctor's smile widened. "You did well, Ahiro. You've been successfully registered as an Awakener. Congratulations."

Ahiro couldn't help but feel a surge of relief and accomplishment.

"Thank you," he replied, a sense of gratitude washing over him.

The doctor continued, "You'll receive your Awakener identity and further instructions soon. For now, I suggest you have some lunch and get dressed. You'll be informed about your next steps shortly."

With those words, the doctor left Ahiro to prepare for the next phase of his journey as an Awakener.

After finishing his lunch and returning the tray, Ahiro turned his attention to the intriguing box that had been delivered with his meal. The robot had been specific—he could open it only after completing his lunch. Curiosity tingling, he carefully unsealed the box.

Inside, neatly folded, was a set of clothes that took Ahiro by surprise. They were nothing like his usual attire. The fabric felt soft and high-quality, and the design was sleek and modern. A pair of well-fitted jeans, a stylish blazer, and a crisp white shirt lay within the box.

Ahiro couldn't help but marvel at the clothes. They were a far cry from his usual worn-out garments. He ran his fingers over the smooth fabric, his mind drifting back to his previous attire, which had been scorched by the fiery punch of Miss Remi during their intense training session.

Beside the clothes, he spotted a sleek, futuristic smart band. Attached to it was a small note that read, "Apology gift." Ahiro raised an eyebrow in curiosity. This was unexpected. He wondered if the gift was from Miss Rami.

Before long, the band chimed, and a holographic message appeared from the smart band's screen, indicating that he should prepare for his next steps as an Awakener. Ahiro changed into his new clothes and left for the room that was mentioned in the message.

Ahiro entered the room indicated by the notification on his smart band. Inside, he found the receptionist he had met during his first encounter in this facility. She gestured toward a comfortable-looking sofa and invited him to take a seat across from her.

Between the two sofas stood a sleek table, upon which a touchscreen display was mounted. As the receptionist tapped a button, a holographic display shimmered to life, hovering in front of Ahiro. It displayed a series of guidelines and information he was expected to read and understand as a newly awakened Awakener.

The receptionist explained, "These guidelines are important for your safety and the well-being of others. As an Awakener, there are certain responsibilities and expectations placed upon you. Please take a moment to review these guidelines carefully."

Ahiro nodded and began reading through the holographic display. The guidelines included various aspects of his new life as an Awakener. Some of the key points mentioned were:

Awakened individuals were encouraged to keep their abilities a secret from the general public. Self-Control of thier emotions. The use of abilities in confrontations was discouraged unless absolutely necessary for self-defense or the protection of others. Continued training and development of abilities were strongly recommended. and many more ethical codes of conduct.

As Ahiro read through the guidelines, he realized being an Awakener came with unique responsibilities and expectations.

Ahiro read through the holographic guidelines carefully, absorbing the information as best as he could. However, there was one point that made him hesitant, one question he needed to ask. Just as he was about to voice his uncertainty, the receptionist began speaking, as if she had read his thoughts.

She offered him a warm smile and said, "Firstly, congratulations on officially becoming an Awakener. It's a significant step, and you should be proud of it."

Ahiro returned her smile. "Thank you," he replied, "but there's something I'm not quite sure about in these guidelines."

The receptionist nodded as if she had anticipated his question. "I understand," she said kindly. "I believe you may have doubts about your training and development as an Awakened, correct?"

Ahiro nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's right but I'm not sure where to start or what's expected of me."

The receptionist leaned forward slightly, her expression earnest. "You're not alone in feeling this way," she assured him. "It's common for young Awakeners to have these questions about thier abilities and uncertainties about their future. Let me explain."

She continued, "As a newly awakened Awakener, you will have the opportunity to enroll in specialized schools designed to help you hone your abilities. These schools are an essential part of our society, and they're not just for learning control but also for understanding your powers and using them responsibly."

Ahiro's eyes widened with interest. "Schools for Awakeners? I didn't know they existed."

The receptionist nodded. "Yes, and attendance at these schools is mandatory by law. It's important to ensure that young Awakeners like yourself receive proper guidance and training. You'll be able to meet others who also have abilities, learn from experienced instructors, and develop your powers in a controlled environment."

She concluded, "You will receive more information about these schools after you sign the guidelines and finish the registration. you can take some time to familiarize yourself with the guidelines, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions."

Ahiro understood and then begin reading the guidelines  in details and then finally signed the documents. As soon as ahiro signed the guidelines. 3 more holographic screens came in front of him.
