Ahiro watched as three holographic screens materialized in front of him, each displaying different images and descriptions of what appeared to be schools.
Intrigued, he leaned forward to get a closer look. "What are these?" he asked, gesturing to the screens.
The receptionist smiled and replied, "These are options for Awakener schools that are available to you. The availability is decided based on your power and rank"
Ahiro furrowed his brows, still processing the concept of ranks. "Rank? What do you mean by 'rank'?"
The receptionist seemed more than happy to clarify. "Your rank as an Awakener indicates the level of control and proficiency you have with your abilities. It's determined through a series of tests and assessments that evaluate your power and its potential. The higher your rank, the more advanced the school you'll be eligible to attend."
A sense of curiosity and excitement welled up within Ahiro. "That sounds fascinating. Can you tell me what my rank is?"
The receptionist nodded. "Of course. You're currently registered as an E-rank Awakener. This might seem like a low rank but each awakened is unique It is up to you how you will use your ability and shape your own future"
Ahiro nodded in acknowledgment, taking in the information. It was the first time he had heard about this ranking system, and he knew being a low rank was gonna come with its own set of challenges but he was ready.
"Each of these schools offers specialized training programs." the receptionist continued explaining, gesturing to the holographic screens. "You can choose the one that best suits your abilities and goals."
The receptionist watched Ahiro's contemplative expression and decided to offer some guidance. "It seems you've been listed as eligible for some of the top schools," she began, her voice warm and encouraging.
Ahiro nodded, looking up from the holographic screens. "Yes, I noticed that. But I'm not sure which one to choose. They all seem interesting, but they're so different."
The receptionist smiled kindly. "That's the beauty of it, Ahiro. Each school offers a unique experience and focuses on different aspects of Awakener's abilities. Let me explain the advantages of each choice."
The receptionist pointed to the first holographic screen. "Harmonia Awakener Academy is renowned for its commitment to research and development. You'll have access to state-of-the-art labs and guidance from leading experts in the field. Graduates often go to prestigious research institutes and some work here at ATR too."
Ahiro nodded
The receptionist then gestured to the second holographic screen. "Valorius Awakener Institute specializes in combat and defense training. If you choose this path, you'll learn advanced combat techniques, martial arts, and tactical strategies. This school is perfect if you wish to become a Reaver, Striker, or Explorer"
Ahiro considered this option. Of course, he knew about reaver or Striker they were at the forefront of humanity and were treated like heroes.
Finally, the receptionist directed his attention to the third holographic screen. "Elysian Awakener School focuses on support, healing, and technology advances. Here, you'll master the art of using your awakened abilities to provide support. Additionally, you'll explore the exciting field of Awakener technology, etc."
Ahiro nodded once more, intrigued by the idea of being someone who can support the reavers and use technology to enhance his abilities for the greater good.
The receptionist leaned forward, her tone earnest. "Ahiro, each of these schools will shape your journey as an Awakener in its own unique way. Consider not only your interests but also your goals and values. Where do you see yourself making the most impact? What kind of Awakener do you want to become?"
Ahiro contemplated the receptionist's words, realizing that this choice was more than just selecting a school; it was defining his path as an Awakener.
"Do I have to make the decision right now?" Ahiro asked, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
The receptionist shook her head, offering reassurance. "No, you don't have to decide immediately. Take your time to think about it. Discuss your options with your mentors or anyone else you trust. Once you've made your choice, simply let us know. We're here to support you every step of the way."
The receptionist continued her explanation, her tone now tinged with pride. "It's worth noting that these schools typically have high tuition fees for those who wish to join directly, but they also offer scholarships through various tests and assessments. However, in your case, Ahiro, you have a unique advantage."
Ahiro raised an eyebrow, curious about this advantage the receptionist was referring to.
"Miss Rami, who accompanied you here, submitted a commendation on your behalf," the receptionist explained. "Her recommendation carries significant weight, and it's thanks to her that you've been granted entry to all three top schools. Additionally, as an orphan and an Awakener, you automatically qualify for a scholarship for your school of choice. This will cover your tuition and provide you with the resources you need to succeed."
Ahiro felt a mix of gratitude and surprise. Miss Rami had truly gone above and beyond to ensure his opportunities. He remembered her words about helping him become stronger, and now he understood the extent of her commitment to his future.
"Miss Rami did all this for me?" he asked, feeling touched by her support.
The receptionist nodded with a warm smile. "Yes, Ahiro. It's clear that she believes in your potential and wants to see you thrive. She sees something in you, and it's our duty to support your growth as an Awakener."
Ahiro nodded in appreciation. He thanked the receptionist for her assistance and left the room, the holographic screens fading behind him.
Ahiro departed from the building, his mind swirling with the whirlwind of emotions and adventures he had experienced in the past days. From the harrowing attack by the trio, Mia's mysterious disappearance, to his newfound powers, it had been an exhilarating and perplexing journey.
As he stepped onto the bustling city sidewalk, he hailed a passing autonomous taxi. Inside the vehicle, he entered the name of the orphanage, and the self-driving taxi smoothly accelerated, navigating the city's streets with precision. He knew that the other children at the orphanage would be eagerly awaiting his return.Using his smart band, now linked to his credit account, he settled the fare and alighted from the taxi.
Standing before the weathered two-story structure that was the orphanage, a sense of calm washed over him, grounding his racing thoughts and fears. He was acutely aware that he had numerous questions demanding answers and important decisions to make in the days ahead. However, at this moment, what he yearned for most was a hearty meal prepared by Miss Foster and the comforting embrace of his familiar, warm bed.
