Nidhogg POV:
I looked at the goofy looking demon before me. He had impressive amounts of mana, I'd give him that, but just by looking at him, I knew he was lacking in the intelligence department. He was obviously the one who was in charge of this town as the demons who survived started cheering at his arrival.
Hearing their cheers, he turns to them, waving at them which causes more cheers to erupt. Turning back to me, his eyes grow wide with surprise as he finds my claws just inches from his face. I was expecting even the slightest bit of resistance from him, but my upper right hand continues through his body as if it was air. Stepping back, his face reforms as his lines that resemble eyebrows scrunch together.
"Rude." He says.
From my initial observations of him, I would have expected him to be able to regenerate and resist physical attacks in such a manner. I watch him hum as he starts shaking to his own tune. Never one to underestimate my opponent I silently assess his strength. I debate using Cero on him but decide against it as I don't want to reveal too many of my skills.
Since he'd already seen the destruction of Beelzebub, I had no problems in activating it. Clouds of bugs begin to form around me causing him to snap back into focus. Rubbing his hands together, he lets out a laugh.
"Hah hah! Entertain me!"
From that one sentence, I cringe as I realize just who I was going against. The one type of person I loathed to face. The battle maniacs. He preferred using his cunning to end battles quickly, never revealing your true hand unless absolutely necessary. It was the method he used on people that didn't look like his parents and helped him in plenty of nasty situations.
Battle maniacs were the worst opponents. They disregarded all common sense and just fought with everything they had in an effort to appease their own pleasure in fighting. They would do everything in their power to make this the most impossible to win fight. Sighing, I prepare for the worst for the upcoming annoyance that I was about to face.
General POV:
Droopy watched his opponent carefully. The first time the demon caught him off guard. It's speed and strength was no joke. Not even mentioning the aura of mana that it radiated. This demon was bad news.
As he was prepared for the demon this time, he attempted to bait the demon in for another attack by pretending to drop his guard around him by humming a tune and dancing to it. The demon didn't take the bait, instead unleashing a stream of bugs where he was instead. This was no doubt the attack that caused the surrounding destruction.
"Hey. What's your name?" Droopy asks. He had to know of the demon who was no doubt going to give him the best time.
Nidhogg pauses, debating whether on to tell him. After a moment of delegation, he responds. "Nidhogg."
Saying that, the bugs around Nidhogg launch themselves at Droopy. He responds by blowing into his hand, stretching it. It wraps around the first waves of insects, crushing them under his fist. Nidhogg watches them float with Droopy's arm as they begin to dissolve to his poison.
Droopy jumps towards Nidhogg, raising his giant fist and bringing it down. Nidhogg jumps to the right, using all his arms to punch out at Droopy while he's still in the air. His punches tear through Droopy's body, which quickly regenerate. Laughing, a part of Droopy's body lashes out, hitting Nidhogg, sending him back.
Deciding to not let Nidhogg recover, Droopy quickly recovers, rushing towards his new location. Bugs move to intercept him, which he swats away. However, more come from his right, landing on him as they attempt to tear chunks out of him. His body grows bigger, as they overlap the bugs, making them dissolve within him.
Not even bothered with Nidhogg's bugs, his hand deflates, as more arms grow that he hits out towards him. Nidhogg tries to counter by using his own arms to block the flurry of attacks from Droopy. More bugs come and assault Droopy while he's attacking, but he ignores them. He could see that his attacks affected the demon, despite him being able to regenerate much like himself. It wasn't at the same rate as his own, so he knew that a relentless attack would make this demon crumble.
As he ignored the bugs, he focused solely on harming Nidhogg. Doing so, he couldn't help but notice something was wrong. He had the advantage, but he felt his instincts told him otherwise. He pauses his attack to find what was wrong. After a quick second, he realizes that some bugs weren't attacking, instead choosing to hover nearby.
He knows normally, this wouldn't be a cause for concern, but he noticed they had a concentration of mana. Before he could react, five beams of black and bright orange tear through his body, destroying 80% of his body. Back on his feet, Nidhogg commands his bugs to feast on the remnants of Droopy's body.
The parts to Droopy reform together, but he's now only 4 feet tall. Collecting himself together, he begins to laugh wholeheartedly, as he dodges the attacks.
"HAAH! You really are what I thought you were. I must have you come over to our Lord's side no matter what. Be prepared. The real fight starts now." Nidhogg could only cringe at Droopy's words.
