Did this guy just flip me off? The hell, I just told a joke. Did he hate his name that much? "damn, i didn't think you hated your name that much." Even if he did flip me off, I still showed an expressionless expression, which seemed to trigger him more.
"Oh shut up, you don't go cracking a shitty joke to someone you just met." Yeah, the guy is being nice and mean at the same time.
"He has a point, you know."
"that's how i always greet someone." Need to crack a joke every time.
"Is that why you don't have any friends?" Asked Aqrim.
"Probably the reason; no wonder I don't like you." Jimmy told me with a sad expression on his face.
"why is everyone ganging up on me? i didn't do anything wrong."
"Oh, trust me, you did," Aqrim said while patting my shoulder.
"Jesus Christ, what happened to your shoulder?" He stared at my shoulder, which showed a little bit of disgust.
"yeah... it got bitten off, so did my pinky." I showed him my left hand, which was missing a pinky.
"You're going to need a doctor in the morning. How does it not hurt?
"no idea, i imagined it would hurt a bit more now, buuuut it doesn't," I said, looking at my missing pinky.
"Guess the encounters with those things did a number on you. How did you escape?" He asked me, looking at my missing pinky.
"i don't know they just let us go."
"Uh, oh, that's not good; did they perhaps let you injure them?"
Nodding my head at his question. "yeah, they did, and after they injured me two times, they just followed us and let us run off."
"That's... definitely not great..." He paused and said. "Go to the priest in the morning and tell him what you experienced."
"are you kidding me? this demon here just told the priest that God couldn't do anything to help us here."
"Hey, don't look at me; I'm just telling the truth." The demon put his hands up in the air.
"Yeah, I already figured that out."
"Wait really, I thought all of you lots would be brainwashed by him or something." Said Aqrim left wondering about his answer
"I'm just saying, I don't think God would tell us to hang up dolls like humans for "protection." You know what I mean."
"wait, those things were for protection?"
"We had a witch who used to live here; she told us she could talk with God. We let her, and she said God told us to hang up the dolls. We thought it was complete bull at first, but after we did it, there were no man-eating humanoids in the town since."
"did she get eaten?"
"Her head got bitten right off, which was a better way to go since they usually torture you by eating you little by little." He said it with a sad expression on his face.
"uh. forget i ever asked; this place is the worst thing for story time."
"Yeah, well, it's time to go to bed; we have a bedtime here, and it's what God supposedly told us." Pointing to the two couches behind us. "You two get the couch; there's only one bedroom here, and it's mine. I'll go bring pillows and blankets." He said, walking towards the hallway.
Later, he came back with two blankets and pillows. "Here, don't cause too much ruckus, and go to bed as soon as you can. I won't take any questions right now; I'll answer them in the morning or when I feel like it."
"if you say so." Listening to his words, we both took a blanket and pillow each while Jimmy walked to his room.
Laying on the couch, I closed my eyes for a good sleep.
