The shadowy figure was slowly but surely coming towards us. Each step caused the snow to shape a footprint. The figure was close enough for us to see it now. It was a man. He looked like he was of Chinese descent. I looked down at his hand and what he was carrying, and it was a gun.
"quick, let's go! the man has a gun!" I said in a panicked tone.
"I knew it was a bad idea to listen to a guy who made a contract with a demon!" The old man was frantically running for his life now.
I felt something pressing against my head. It was a cold feeling, and I have a guess as to what it was: "Whoever moves gets a bullet." The old man stopped right in his tracks, freezing from the fear he felt and from the cold.
"Who are you people?" The man demanded pressing the gun harder towards my head.
"we're just passing through; don't mind us; we just want food." Hopefully, this works.
"STOP THE BULLSHIT! Do you think I don't see what's next to you right there?!"
"he's perfectly harmless, just a little bit weird, hehe." I gave a nervous chuckle.
"Really, and if he's harmless, why do you sound so calm right now?" Pressing the gun to my head even harder now.
"don't judge me. i was born like this, and i made a contract with him."
"We might just have to test that out." He was taking a rope out of his pocket. "Hands behind your back." We all put our hands behind our backs, and now that we have done it, the man shoved us into a group of three, tying all of us up.
"Not so tight, my bones can't handle this."
"Stop complaining, grandpa, or do you want to go out first?"
"Ok, ok, I will stop talking."
The man dragged us in the snow for a long time. Me and Aqrim were both facing down into the snow. The constant dragging made my face cold and my mouth filled with snow. I didn't know how long we were dragged, but it felt like forever.
My teeth were cold. My mouth was filled with snow. How long has it been fifty minutes now? It probably wasn't that long, but it felt like it. If I couldn't feel the pain in my pinky and shoulder, I felt the pain in my mouth. I've been dragged for so far and long that I blacked out.
...
When I opened my eyes, all I could see was pitch-black darkness. "you guys also here?"
"Just me, the old man was let go because they sympathized with his story."
"that's a good thing, i... think."
Then a bright light opened up and it shined straight into my eyes, blinding me in the process. "ah, my eyes!"
"SHUT IT!"
I was getting dragged by the hair moving towards that light. I opened my eyes after the shock of the sudden pain. There were rows of wooden pews in front of me. The scent of looming wood was near. The windows were colored in all sorts of bright colors. Paintings of Jesus and crosses were up on the walls. The entrance had a giant cross above it.
"This... is bad, very bad."
"i guess this is goodbye. they're going to exercise you."
"Quiet! You are in front of the priest; the exercise will begin soon!" It's the guy who dragged me to the ground and filled my mouth with snow.
A man in glasses looked like he was in his mid-forties. He was wearing a vestment while holding a cross in his right hand and a book on his left. He was walking towards us, bringing his cross up towards us.
"BY THE NAME OF GOD TODAY I WILL FREE YOU!"
"can we talk about this, please?" The priest ignored me and continued with his chant.
"BY THE NAME OF GOD I ORDER YOU TO FALL BACK DOWN!"
"This is strange... I don't feel anything."
"OUR LORD AND SAVIOR WILL GIVE FREEDOM!"
"I don't feel anything; it's not working!"
"W-what, why isn't it working?"
"God can't touch me here! This place isn't affected by God! I WIN." The demon was now getting excited all over; he was bragging about living against God. But his energy soon dissipated.
"That's bad. If God can't reach this place then..."
"Stop lying! God is always with us, even in this place!"
"I'd love to break it to you, but if his Authority were in this place, I would've been back down in hell by now."
