Uvogin, Nobunaga, and Illumi all agreed to the arrangement without any objections.
Meanwhile, Chrollo had to face Hisoka's challenge once again.
As he summoned his book, it flipped open, revealing various "Nen abilities" that he had stolen with "Skill Hunter," originally intended to track and kill Germain.
There was Pakunoda's "Memory Reading."
Machi's "Nen Stitches."
Shalnark's "Black Voice."
The "Sun and Moon" from the elders of Meteor City.
Many more "Nen abilities" were listed, all of them meant to ensure Germain's death.
To be cautious, Chrollo had made sure that Machi, Pakunoda, and Shalnark didn't board the train.
The three of them hadn't even come to the Azian Continent; they were still on the Yorbian Continent.
This strategy temporarily negated one of the weaknesses of Chrollo's "Skill Hunter"—when someone whose "Nen ability" he has stolen dies, the ability vanishes from the book.
By keeping them far away, Germain wouldn't be able to kill Machi, Pakunoda, and Shalnark from across the ocean and make the abilities disappear from Chrollo's book.
However, Chrollo hadn't anticipated that Germain would have a backup plan, forcing him to use all these abilities against Hisoka, who suddenly joined the battle.
It seemed that Germain's tactical approach was as tricky as Hisoka's.
Chrollo disliked losing control, but he was confident that everything would be under his control again once he made the necessary adjustments.
Although he was the type to plan carefully before acting, he was also skilled at managing the battlefield on the fly.
Bang, bang, bang—
Suddenly, a series of explosions erupted from a carriage further back.
The explosions were like the starting signal in a race, prompting all the "Nen users" in the car to attack at once!
"Germain..."
Uvogin charged forward, his aura exploding like a blazing fireball. His face was twisted with rage, looking as if he wanted to devour Germain.
"I've been searching for you for a long time!"
He stormed through like a runaway tank, smashing the round table in his way with a single swipe of his hand.
Before he could rush to Germain's side, a "chain" suddenly swung out from the side, snapping around his thigh. The claws at the end hooked into his flesh with a sharp hiss!
"A chain?"
Uvogin turned his head in confusion and saw Kurapika tightening the "binding middle finger chain" from a distance. The "Nen" on his thigh was immediately forced to dissipate.
With a hard tug, Uvogin's strong body was pulled to the ground!
Kurapika's current "binding middle finger chain" didn't have the "Vows and Limitations" that specifically target members of the Phantom Troupe, but it still had the ability to force a localized "Zetsu."
Kurapika only used his "Scarlet Eyes" to slightly boost his strength and speed; he didn't activate the full power of "Scarlet Eyes' Emperor Time," which would allow him to compete with Uvogin's raw strength as an Enhancer.
But this was enough. Uvogin was caught off guard, and Kurapika used the "binding middle finger chain" to wrap around his thigh, breaking the "Nen" on it. With a single pull, Uvogin was down.
Germain had already aimed his palm at Uvogin, who had crashed to the ground with a heavy thud.
A Flamethrower appeared from Germain's palm, and a jet of flames shot out, heading straight for Uvogin!
The flames poured down, engulfing Uvogin's head in a blazing fire.
But in the next moment, a flash of silver-white light sliced through the flames, splitting them in two!
The blade slashed diagonally again, cutting through the "binding middle finger chain" wrapped around Uvogin's thigh!
Kurapika watched as one end of his "binding middle finger chain" dissipated into "Nen" and disappeared, so he quickly retracted the remaining part back to the middle finger of his right hand.
Fortunately, he practiced every day, so conjuring the "Binding Middle Finger Chain" again wasn't difficult; it just required more "Nen."
Right now, this was the only chain he had developed for combat. The others—the "Dowsing Chain" and the "Healing Thumb Chain"—were more for support.
As for the "Judgment Pinky Chain" and "Thieving Index Finger Chain," they were still concepts, not yet developed.
The "Binding Middle Finger Chain" was the only attack Kurapika could rely on at this moment.
However, the man in front of him cut it off effortlessly!
Even though Kurapika had expected this and knew he couldn't match the strength of the "Phantom Troupe members" right now, seeing it happen still made him feel unwilling to back down.
Nobunaga stood in front of Uvogin with a cold, imposing aura. The samurai sword in his right hand moved with incredible speed, like a silver snake, drawing elegant, graceful arcs.
The reach of his blade's slashes matched the radius of his "En" — 4 meters.
This wasn't a coincidence but a result of his "Vows and Limitations."
By sacrificing the range of his "En" and limiting it to 4 meters, he enhanced his "Nen" abilities.
This was Nobunaga's "Enhancement System: Cutting Everything Within the Circle"!
At the edge of Nobunaga's "En," where his slashes reached their limit, was the sharpest point of his attacks. His incredibly fast swings created a fearsome "defensive circle."
The fire streams from Germain's flamethrower surged toward Uvogin, but Nobunaga's "defensive circle" cut through them effortlessly, like a ball of dough passing through a noodle cutter!
Kurapika launched the "Binding Middle Finger Chain" again, this time aiming at Nobunaga's side, but it was cut off once more with a metallic clang!
The fire and the chain were severed almost simultaneously, demonstrating Nobunaga's speed and the all-encompassing three-dimensional defense of "cutting everything within the circle."
Kurapika frowned as he watched. He glanced over at his teacher, surprised to see how calm he remained.
After observing for a moment, Kurapika slowly began to relax, easing his tense mood.
"Ah—"
At that moment, a loud shout erupted from behind Nobunaga. It was Uvogin, and the sound was so intense it made everyone's eardrums throb.
He slapped his head, extinguishing the last spark.
The flames had burned Uvogin's once long hair, leaving it charred and curly, giving him an afro-like appearance. It reminded Nobunaga of how Uvogin looked when he was younger, but now his hair was much messier.
Uvogin seemed irritated, clenching his teeth for a moment. He then bent down, clenched his right fist, and began gathering his energy.
"Hey, hey, hey," Nobunaga warned him coldly, glancing at him out of the corner of his eye. "Don't forget we're still on the train."
"I know," Uvogin responded, his voice like a long-suppressed beast. "I'll only use forty percent of my power."
Nobunaga listened and quickly assessed the situation, agreeing with Uvogin's choice. He then shifted his stance, positioning himself carefully in front of Uvogin.
Uvogin's Nen Ability, a "Enhancement" ability, was quicker than Finks' "Ripper Cyclotron," but there were still moments where it could be interrupted.
So, based on their long-standing battle partnership, Nobunaga took the initiative to use his "En Slash" to cover the gaps.
As long as Uvogin gathered his aura within Nobunaga's "En Slash" range, he'd be safe.
Their coordination was flawless.
