Laura Summers' words were falling on deaf ears for Zara Jameson.
All she could think about was the phrase 'dropped out of middle school.'
How could someone who hadn't even finished middle school be helping her brother investigate a case?
Zara was in turmoil, she felt that she might have really made a huge mistake.
"Zara," Laura Summers called her by her first name, trying to establish a closer relationship, "Purple Summers did this to curry favour with your family. She dropped out of middle school and her academic performance was disastrous. She probably hoped that your brother and mother would show her some leniency during exams. She is both vicious and sly, using your brother's future reputation as a wager. Don't be fooled."
Zara felt turmoil in her heart, "Laura, I... I have to go, we'll talk next time."
