Eve Thompson stopped in her tracks at the sound of these words, standing just outside the door of the ladies' room.
The voice of Roland Roberts was tinged with restrained anger as she glared at Iris Thompson. Iris continued to timidly gaze at her own reflection in the mirror before speaking, "What are you talking about? I don't understand..."
Roland felt as though she had punched into a wad of cotton.
She was so angry she couldn't get a single word out, all she could do was leave a vicious comment behind, "Fine, you're ruthless. This time, I'm the one who's been taken down! But do you really think that just because you're marrying Reginald Bates and have successfully negotiated this marriage, your future days will be easy? Hah, just wait and see!"
After Roland left those words behind, she turned and walked away.
