Synopsis
Eve Thompson found herself waking up in the bed of S City's most eligible bachelor with his arm around her waist, but she only had her mother's words in her mind. "Make sure nobody finds out you're disguised as your sister," she told her, looking at the fake birthmark drawn with makeup on her remaining daughter's face. "You have to get Mr. Charlie to marry you, everything we have depends on it!" said she. It was a shame, for the man beside him closely resembled the man she'd lost many years ago. Anthony Charlie's favor with women was notoriously hard to gain, but in a drunken stupor, he crawled under the sheets with the woman beside her, enticed by the memory of someone he'd lost long ago that this woman resembled. However, she never had a birthmark. It could never be her. Was their encounter coincidental? What would their hidden past reveal!? Join Eve Thompson on her exciting journey of courtship and political espionage as she steps into the shoes of her twin sister's now-abandoned life and tries to save her family by winning the heart of the mysterious bachelor, Anthony Charlie!

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: As if afraid she would run away...

"Waiting For My Forever Love" Preface:

Eve Thompson: I have exhausted all the luck in my life just to meet you.

Anthony Charlie: In midair, I built a city for you, just waiting for the return of the moonlight.

-

Late night.

Eve Thompson slowly opened her eyes, seeing the face of a sleeping man – delicate and striking, like a carefully sculpted artwork by God himself.

So, he was the legendary Anthony Charlie, the biggest business tycoon in City S, who single-handedly established his own business empire and controlled the entire economic lifeline of City S. Such a man was the target of desire for many women.

However, Eve didn't dwell on the man's beauty for long. As she shifted slightly, a lean and powerful arm suddenly tightened around her waist – as if afraid she would run away. Startled, Eve didn't dare make a sound for fear of waking him, and stared blankly at the luxurious crystal chandelier above her.

It didn't seem like there was much reason to be upset – she had come here to marry him, and now that they had been intimate, he should propose, right?

But… everyone said that Anthony was not a womanizer, so why did he… was it because he had been drinking?

As Eve pondered, sleepiness overcame her, and she drifts off unknowingly.

-

Early morning.

A ray of sunlight slips through the gap in the curtains.

Anthony let out a "ho" as he opened his eyes, feeling slightly hungover.

He rubbed his temples, suddenly recalling something; he turned his head abruptly and caught sight of the girl, her dark hair cascading down, covering her face with only a vague glimpse of her delicate features.

Anthony's pupils shrank. He muttered under his breath, "Little Wren?"

But the next moment, his gaze fell on the girl's right cheek, where a large blue birthmark stretched from her eyebrow down to the area below her eye.

Anthony suddenly sobered up, a chilling sensation filling the entire room.

It wasn't her!

He knew then, that everything from last night was just a dream!

As Eve Thompson slept soundly, she was abruptly jolted awake by a forceful tug on her arm.

She reluctantly opened her eyes and, without clearly making out the scene before her, was met with a harsh, icy voice: "Are you the woman my grandmother spoke of?"

Eve furrowed her brow, glanced up, and saw Anthony's handsome face, coldly staring back at her, as if he wanted nothing more than to get rid of her.

As she didn't respond, he grew even more impatient: "Don't think that pleasing my grandmother and seizing the opportunity to crawl into my bed will grant you any entitlement!"

With that, he flipped out of bed like he couldn't bear to look at her any longer, entered the bathroom to shower and change, and then left.

"Bang!"

As the door slammed shut, Eve suddenly understood the meaning of his words.

If he doesn't take responsibility, won't her coming here have been in vain?
