Eve Thompson's face turned dark in an instant, and she turned her head in fright to look at Count Hughes, only to see his expression becoming ominous.
It was understandable, though. Even if one didn't like their own wife, they couldn't bear it when she called another man 'husband' right in front of them.
Eve Thompson swallowed hard, feeling certain that Count Hughes was about to erupt in anger.
So, before he could say anything, and before Violet Taylor could utter her next sentence, she hurriedly rushed in front of Violet Taylor and explained, "Mr. Hughes, little sister was so happy to see you, she was beside herself with joy!"
After she finished speaking, she pinched Violet Taylor.
Violet Taylor frowned in pain: "Why did you pinch me?"
Eve Thompson: ??
Violet Taylor then looked towards Henry Morgan, "Husband, um, did you come to see me?"
Eve Thompson facepalmed!
