When Ava left, Reginald Bates walked in holding some milk, apparently having gone out to buy it for Iris Thompson. Spotting Ava White, his gaze darkened, startling her into quickening her pace as she pushed the wheelchair away even faster.
The onlookers surrounding them finally dispersed.
