Eve Thompson spotted Anthony Charlie from afar, and immediately felt a pang of injustice.
Originally lounging on a sofa in the lobby, she sprang up upon seeing him and made her way over to him.
After a few steps, she saw him quicken his pace—taking three steps at once—and soon he appeared in front of her. He grabbed her wrist and shielded her behind him. He then turned to Reginald Bates and told Eve: "Don't be scared."

Anthony's expression darkened and he turned around.

Before she could finish her sentence, a voice suddenly emanated from behind her: "Miss Thompson, you really have no self-respect! You already have an excellent husband like Mr. Charlie, so why are you flirting with other men? Are you treating Mr. Charlie fairly?"
