The dean fell silent, not knowing what to say for a moment.

The post was made two months prior, stealing Iris Thompson's thesis and uploading it abroad.
Later, when Eve Thompson took over the thesis and polished it, it was definitely better than the post.
But this is not evidence of non-plagiarism...
