Eve Thompson clenched her jaw.
Before her sister ran away from home, she video-called her every night, but she never mentioned this person. So, what exactly was their relationship?
Why did it seem from Irvin's words that her sister didn't just simply run away from home? These days, she called every day to reassure them, but never said more than necessary. Where was she, and who was she with?
These thoughts swirled madly in Eve's mind as she quietly lowered her head, pretending to be obedient once more: "I'll go back first."
She bypassed Irvin and ran to the front hall.
Irvin raised an eyebrow, a glint of interest flashing in his eyes. He remembered meeting her before; she was easily teased and completely disoriented. But this time, despite being caught off guard by his teasing, her eyes remained unmoved.
He curled his lips and called out to Eve's retreating figure: "Miss, I'll treat you to dinner the day after tomorrow."
