Scarlet got to the front of her house and she stopped before turning her head to look in the direction of Johan's house. She saw him standing outside, and she could picture the look of surprise on his face. Other than him, there were other people whose eyes stared at her; the neighbors, the cops, and the detectives. Scarlet had walked past them while keeping her head down and now, she moved her eyes to see her mother rushing out of Mr. Baron's house while he followed behind her.
Scarlet could already tell that she had been disturbed. She looks haggard and Scarlet didn't blame her. As a matter of fact, she was somehow relieved to see her that way. It made her realize that there was at least someone who cares about her, who will go to all lengths until she has her back. She pushed the door open and turned her eyes away from them before walking inside.
