She was tense as she looked at the women in the room. She didn't miss the scowls that were firmly plastered across their faces.
"Well, like are you going to stand there or are you going to join us?" She heard the girl say in a challenging tone. She knew that she had found it on purpose but she wasn't going to allow her to see that she was affected.
"Good luck," Adam whispered to her and she gulped as she nodded her head at him in response before stepping into the circle.
She didn't know why she was nervous but she could sense that they didn't particularly like her or the idea of her being there. She was poised to be above them and she was set to exude her superiority towards them.
"Well ladies, what are we making?" She asked. The other women only looked at her as they chuckled before turning away as they focused on weaving dandelions around the crown. She tried not to feel insulted by their blatant act of disrespect. She knew that they were doing it on purpose to disrespect her but she wasn't about to let them see that.
"Hi Luna: my name is Rebecca. I am here to show you around. I'm going to help you around the pack. And I am here to guide you with any work that you need help with. You should know that I am here for you and that I am willing to help you." She said and she couldn't help but smile at her.
She was grateful to have her there and she was happy that she was helping her out. "Don't mind the lasuwa they are just salty that the Alpha is now unavailable. They thought that he would never find his mate." She said and she wondered how many people felt that way.
But that wasn't a good enough excuse. She was above them now and the main reason that she was here in the first place was to prove to the people that the Alpha isn't as cold and as distant as everyone else made him seem. It seemed that the only people that were entirely disturbed by that face were the men. As for the women they liked the elusiveness of his availability and the fact that he was open for them.
"That may be true but I am the Luna and I demand to be respected." She said to her hardly. She watched as she chuckled before shaking her head slightly.
"That is all well and good Luna and I mean this with all due respect but the pack may not entirely agree with you. They don't know you. And they have no idea what you bring to the pack. If you want to have their respect, you are going to have to show them that you aren't some weak fool, that you are strong and powerful And you aren't going to bend to anyone else's will." She explained to her and she guessed that she was right.
She had to show them that she was a powerful being and she wasn't one to be messed with. She felt a set of eyes that were trained on her and she gritted her teeth as she sent a glare towards the girl that was sitting in front of her.
"Do you have a problem?" She asked her with a raised eyebrow. She watched as the girl chuckled as she shrugged her shoulders at her
"I don't because I know that you don't deserve to be a threat. I know that the alpha will never desire you. And that you are just a pawn. You should know that you will never fit in here and you should run fast and far away now while you can." She said to her with a snicker and she knew that she was making an attempt to intimidate her but it wasn't going to work.
She was not scared of her. She slowly stood up to her feet as she cleared her throat causing them all to freeze what they were doing as they turned their curious gazes towards her.
"I know that you must all be wondering about me and that you may think that I am someone who is here to change your traditions and to steal your Alpha from you but I assure you that isn't the case. I am only here to help your pack appear as a united front and hope that you can help me do the same. I am not here to start a fight. That is the last thing that I would want from you but I do want to broker peace. Aren't you tired of the constant battles and feeling as though your Alpha is not there for you? I want to show you that your Alpha has a compassionate side and that he is capable of love." I stopped and watched as they looked at me with uncertainty on their features.
"Well that is first and all but you are a stranger to us and so you would see why we would be skeptical to trust you." One of the women said.
She in response let out a sigh from her lips as she nodded her head. "I know that but you should trust me as someone who had lost and who had been lost. I have been through more in the last week than anyone should have to go through. I have lost my hole and I know that you would have felt that too. I am simply hoping for the chance to find a place to start over. For a second chance at life. Especially after mine was turned upside down so quickly." She said to them and she watched as they seemed to look at each other for a moment before getting deep in thought.
She didn't know what to expect from their expressions but to her shock, she watched as they slowly stood up to their feet and bared their necks at her in submission.
All except that one girl. Her eyes held mischief and a promise of something wicked to come.
