Chereads / REVENGE OF THE MATED LUNA / Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE

Erica felt her whole body tense up at the words that the council leader had spoken. She resisted the urge to let out a laugh as she tried to convince herself that he was wrong.

"That is not what I mean. I want you to put an end to him." She said and she watched as they looked towards her with a raised eyebrow. "You wanted a solution and the best one is the one you can get from Sev. He is the leader of your people. Why aren't you happy?" She heard Fat ask.

She gritted her teeth as she looked over at him. It was at that moment that she realized that they had set her up. There was no winning this for her. She either had to agree or she could return to her land where she would have to live with the fact that essentially it was because of her that her people had been killed off.

"You wolves are all the same. Always demanding things and wanting the impossible. You should be grateful for the fact that we are kind enough to spare you a moment of our time." He said to her.

"How dare you just stand there and act as though you are." She started to say but she was cut off by a loud growl coming from beside her. She noticed Alpha Sev kept quiet through it all.

"Let us get this over with". He said to her and she gasped as she looked at him inconspicuously.

"It was you who started this and you're the reason I will be forced to go through with this ceremony that I don't desire so you shouldn't be one to complain. Be grateful." He hissed at her.

She didn't respond to him at first as she only managed to muster up enough energy to send him a sharp glare.

"Fine, it is settled then. He will help you regain your honor and she will help you regain the trust of the wolves so that we will be able to keep them in check." Fay said.

"If this is done then I would like to leave," Sev said in a bitter tone. He watched as they shook their heads at him in response. "But how can we be sure that you will do well in keeping your promise? We would like you to complete the ceremony here". Talaq said with a grin as he sent her a wink.

She felt a shiver run down her spine as she resisted the urge to throw up. "You want to see us mate to prove some sort of point." She hissed.

"The only way you will be seeing her naked form is over my dead body." Sev hissed. She watched as Talaq looked towards them his eyes swirled with amusement and he plastered a smirk on his features.

"At least we know that you will not have to play pretend. I can see that you have already developed a form of attachment to the girl." He said in a knowing tone.

"I will not be mating with anyone here". He said to him in a demanding tone and they watched as the councilman raised up their hands in surrender. "We accept that but you will have her marked before she leaves here. Before the people of the council." She heard Takaq call out.

It was as though she had to choose between the lesser of two evils. She didn't want to be marked much less mated to him. The thought alone made her feel disgusted.

"We need a moment alone." He called out. She watched as the council looked between each other as though trying to approve of his words before slowly nodding their heads at hum.

"We will give you five minutes to come to a decision before we will be forced to decide for you." The councilmen said as she watched them stand up from their seats and leave the room. That was it. She was like a pawn to be traded off and once they were done with her they would move on to the next one.

She turned back to the man that stood before her, as she tried to figure out what his next move would be. "You must be mad if you believe I would really mate with you here. I did not escape a fate with one terrible mate just so that I would end up in the clutches of another." She said to him.

She watched as he sighed running through his hair. "I didn't ask for this either so you may not blame me but they are right in a sense. I need to build a bridge with my people and you need someone to help you get your revenge. And ally." He said to her.

She looked towards him as he extended a hand towards her. She knew that he was right in a sense but she wasn't intent on admitting that. She was not a prize or a trophy to be paraded.

"I will not mate with you." She demanded. She watched as he nodded his head at her. "This may surprise you but I have no desire to mate with you either but this is the only way we will get what we both want. I will convince them to allow me to mark you. That way it won't be a total violation," he said to her.

She sighed as she contemplated his words for a moment. She guessed that it was the only way that she would be getting out of this. "Fine but that is as far as I will go." She said to him and she watched as he gave her a playful smirk". He took a step towards her before he rested both hands on her waist and pulled her towards him gently.

She felt her cheeks heat up at the sparks that erupted on her skin. Just then they were both pulled out of their thoughts when they heard the sound of the door to the side being ripped open.

"Have you come to the decision?" Ralaw asked. "Yes, we will bond with each other. I will mark her but I will not mate her now. That will be done in private. I do not owe you that." he said and they watched as they seemed to contemplate their words.

"Very well then," Talaq muttered.

She leaned in towards him smirking as she said, "Don't get too attached." He frowned as he pulled his lips close to her neck. As he skimmed her shoulder she moaned as she felt warmth flood her. Just then he pulled back before he pierced his fangs into her flesh. She screamed as pain erupted through her body but soon she felt a sense of pleasure come over her before he pulled away.

She watched emotions swirl through his eyes and she gulped as she knew in that moment that she was in trouble.
