Chapter 9 - Real Experience

Lucifer Summined Astrea and Anew, announcing their first mission. Astrea inquired with curiosity, "Sir, could you please tell us more about the mission? Is it related to terrorism, case solving, or something equally significant?"

Lucifer responded with a calming tone, "Hold your enthusiasm, kid. Your mission is straightforward. In three days, a village to the north of Stormwatch Town will celebrate their harvest. Unfortunately, they've faced recurring bandit attacks that hinder their harvest every year. Hence, they've requested the assistance of magic knights like us to protect their harvest. Furthermore, since it's a sizable village, you'll also have the chance to meet some other knights who will join us."

Astrea acknowledged with a salute, "Sir, yes, sir."

Riruru greeted them, "Good morning, guys."

Astrea pointed out, "It's 11 am."

Riruru nonchalantly remarked, "11 am, 9 am—what's the difference?"

Lucifer interjected, "Be honest, Riruru, did you have a drink again?"

Riruru questioned, "Captain, how did you—"

Lucifer interrupted, "Since you're still 80% drunk."

Astrea redirected the conversation, "So, Riruru, how do we plan to get there?"

Anew suggested, "Shouldn't we ask Vice Captain Elizabeth to create a portal for us?"

Riruru regretfully explained, "Sorry, we can't. Vice Captain Elizabeth has never been to that location. However, we can reach it by walking."

Anew inquired further, "So, how far is the village?"

Riruru reassured them, "Not too far, around 300 kilometers."

Anew expressed concern, "But by the time we walk 300 kilometers—"

Riruru interrupted, "You kids worry too much. We'll use the magic carpet."

Astrea asked with excitement, "Are we really going to use the magic carpet?"

Riruru confirmed, "Yes." As they rode on the magic carpet towards their destination, Anew noted, "We're about one-fourth of the way there."

Riruru remarked, "We're going too slow, and it's getting boring."

Astrea pondered, "But what else can we do? This is the magic carpet at its full speed."

Riruru suggested, "Maybe we need a little push." In a second, the magic carpet accelerated dramatically, reaching the village in just a minute.

Astrea exclaimed, "Ma'am, I thought I was going to fall off and die!"

Anew chimed in, "Why did you do this to us? We almost died!"

Riruru reassured them, "Don't worry; I had my strings tied to you, so even if you fell off, you wouldn't have died."

Anew complimented her, "Ma'am, your air magic is really effective."

Riruru responded warmly, "You're the sweetest. Now, let's rendezvous with the other knights." At the village entrance, they encountered only one other knight, Iris.

Iris introduced herself, "Hello, I'm Iris, the Vice Captain of ArcLuatine."

Astrea commented, "If a Vice Captain is here, it must be an important mission."

Iris humbly admitted, "It's not really that important; it's just that I tend to feel useless."

Anew added, "Yeah, I have to agree with that."

Riruru gently chided them, "Guys, that's a bit rude. Let's focus on the task at hand." They entered the village, which was shrouded in fog. Upon reaching the center, they found the villagers bound and several individuals waiting for them.

One of them said, "Astrea, Anew, Riruru, and Iris, we've been waiting for you." Suddenly, the town square was swarmed by zombies.

Riruru commanded, "These are the undead. Give it your all to protect the villagers and use everything you've got to eliminate these creatures and the villain in the center."

the villain said, "like we are just going to sit here and watch.we will kill you,"

Iris responded coolly, "Is that so?"
