CHAPTER 4
IN LIFE IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOU. BUT WHAT MATTERS IS WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT YOURSELF:
This is basically one of the oldest quotes in the book which basically everyone has heard about at least once or more than once in their lifetime. As of one year ago I definitely didn't think or would ever believe that this will be one of the quotes I would doubt. But fate has another story to tell, lol.
If you are to understand the meaning behind this writing then you would also know that this quote is purely unbelievable and why I say this is because the quote tells us not to believe what people say about us while in reality, certain things or opportunities that come our way are actually based on what people think about us and the way they define us. Also our attitude tells a lot about us, so the more we feign ignorance about what society thinks about us then that's the more our image goes down in same society and outside of it.
Instances;
1. Let's take for example that you are really good at something (like a talent or something more) and someone, a company or an organization is in need of your services and while trying to reach you, they did some research about you. but you (being the person they are researching about) doesn't care what people think about you or what rumors goes around with your name keeps feigning ignorance all in the name of "I don't care what people say about me" won't know or be certain about what the research's end result will be. If you were a good person then surely the end result will be certain, the same goes when you are a bad person then the end result will also be certain but when you don't even care and when society isn't certain about you then the only end result will be unknown and as we all know, people are afraid of the unknown.
You shouldn't careless about what people say about you because that is mostly what defines you. I suggest that it better to be unpredictable than to be ignorant.
