Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: BAND

Someone at the stage is calling these guys. People at the party are already waiting for them. Are they popular? Who are these guys? Why did I never meet them before?

"You stay here on the VIP side, RM, I need to join them," Michael said.

"What?" He's leaving me here alone?

"Just one song, RM, I promise."

"Okay." It was a little uncomfortable b1073 wordseing left alone here, but I don't want to spoil this evening.

I watched them play the song. Michael is the vocalist with his rhythm guitar. I looked at him and I fell in love again. I'm melting. I did not hear him sing like that before. I am already aware of how good he is as a singer, but he has a huge impact when on stage. I keep on saying that every girl will fall for him. I mean, look at him. He is the most gorgeous and talented guy in this place at the moment. I can't picture myself being with that heartthrob, but I'm lucky enough to have him. I watched the others, and they were also amazing. With Nathan as the lead guitarist, Joseph as the bass guitarist, and Jay as the drummer, it's like they're just playing without any effort and pressure. They seem to enjoy what they are doing. People at the party watched them as if they had seen celebrities. As the group played the song, I saw Michael wink at me on the VIP side. I wanted to faint just like I felt before. He's totally a heart-taking guy. I also saw him look at me as he did his solo. I smiled at him, and he did the same while he was strumming his guitar with a lot of power. That group is really incredible. I wish I could play music like them, but who am I? I am just a nobody.

"Shut up, RM!" I shook my head. Now is not the time for insecurities.

People cheered as they finished the song, requesting to play again. Michael looked at me and I nodded, telling him that it was okay. He might be worried that I'll get irritated because he promised me to sing just one song. I am very proud of this guy. Looking at some girls giggle makes me fortunate that Michael is all mine. "That's my guy!" I silently shouted.

On second thought, am I honestly that lucky? What is he realizes that he doesn't deserve a nobody like me? Stop, RM! My life is perfect right now. Please don't ruin it.

"RM!" I realized they were done playing.

"Oh!" I didn't even look.

"What do you think? Are we great or what?"

"Amazing!" I thought I was speaking to Michael, but when I looked up, it was Nathan. "Where's Michael?"

"He's just out there somewhere, perhaps kidnapped by his admirers," Nathan said.

That is not good to hear. I don't want to see him jam with some group of girls. Where is he?

"Don't mind him." Jay, who seemed to be the kindest in the group, approached. "He just got us some refreshments."

"It's okay, Jay. I think I am getting used to Nathan's teasing pranks." I uttered, but deep inside, I was a bit worried.

Nathan smiled and sat beside me. I slightly felt comfortable talking to him. Maybe because he is Michael's brother and both of them are interesting because of their dissimilarity. They both love music. They may have different personalities, but the two of them are captivating.

I decided to know about these two as brothers... their stories... their adventures... and their encounters together. Michael hasn't told me about Nathan and I haven't asked because I think family is somewhat a private matter.

Nathan is the loud one, so I listened to his stories, although some are unrealistic. Still, I had a great time hearing those. His jokes were so natural that I did not notice I am already laughing with them. This group is heartwarming. It felt like they were already my friends for a long time.

Michael is lucky to have friends like them, and speaking of, where the heck is he?

My eyes wandered around the place and looked for him. I wish I wouldn't see him flirting with those good-looking girls. What am I even thinking again? I trust him, but I can't help thinking about it. Any guy can't resist a pretty girl.

"RM?" I forgot I was talking to Nathan.

"Do you know where Michael is?" I asked sounding irritated.

"Here I am." At last. "I'm sorry. I got us some drinks."

"It's alright. It's a good thing your brother is here to entertain me." I saw Nathan wink at Michael.

"Well, then." Nathan stood. "I guess I need to leave you two lovers alone. I need to jam with the guys, so got to go." It's jamming time again.

"Okay." I smiled and watched him with the guys go to stage to play another song.

Michael sat beside me. "So, did you have a fun time with Nathan?"

"Yeah, he really is funny. You're fortunate to have those guys."

"I am more than lucky enough to have you." He stared at me. My heart skipped a bit. At least, he is still thinking of me, despite all the pretty girls out there.

"Where have you been anyway? I thought you went out with some other girl." I laughed.

"What did Nathan tell you?"

"Nothing. Just about your amazing circle of friends. Why? Are you thinking about him telling me about your girls? Hell no, Michael." Your girls? Really, RM? I just hope that Michael will not take that seriously.

"No, not really. You know me, and Nathan is not that persuading, I'm sure." I also laughed. That was relieving.

I actually think that you paid him to impress me by telling me some flowery words about you." I giggled. "He's a nice guy. He even said that he is the luckiest brother in the world."

"He did?"

"Yes. And I wish I have a brother like him."

"You already have. I am certain that they will love you."

"Really?" My face lightened up.

"Of course. Who can't love somebody like you?" He kissed me on the cheek.

"Michael, thank you."

"For what?"

"For bringing me into your world."

"My pleasure."

"We've been together for how long, but why just now?" I eagerly asked him.
