Over 1800 years ago - Carthage
Following the Third Punic War
Upon arrival to the Carthaginian lands, the War God's frame immediately took a quick transformation into that of a common Roman soldier. Clad in a gleaming set of steel armor and helmet, Axel was ready to party.
He spun his sword playfully in his hand before returning the weapon to its sheath.
Contrary to his ideas of grandeur and parade celebration though, the sight that greeted the War God, was anything but.
The gloomy smoke that clung to the air assaulted his eyes and nose. Portions of the city were still burning, as well as the surrounding farmlands that the cavalry had set to fire.
Axel immediately covered his nostrils with a red scarf, allowing himself some space to breathe. By the time he got ahold of his bearings, what he saw was akin to getting punched in his gut, as all the air left his lungs.
