Every sound vibrating through the atmosphere frightened her. The loud clanging, occasional banging, voices shuffling, and the worst– Other animals around her, disappearing one by one.
The terrified rabbit huddled in the corner of her cage, which was placed atop the kitchen table. These bigger creatures moving about outside of her enclosure were scary. Maybe if she stayed really still, no one could see her, and they would leave the poor thing alone.
As she shrunk further into the corner of the cage, she heard some voices.
"Prep the rabbit and marinade it," someone commanded in an authoritative tone. "We don't want to be late serving dinner to the Queen."
"Right about that," another responded, before the big creature approached the bunny's cage. The person fiddled on the latch on the enclosure for a bit, further petrifying the tiny animal huddled inside it.
