Amelia Foster, "Let's start."
"Take me somewhere." It was a commanding tone.
Amelia didn't understand her meaning, looked at Anna for answers, but saw her looking just as puzzled as well.
Although she was discontent with Lana Parker's domineering attitude, she needed her help, so she had to put up with it, thinking it might be possible to talk while on the road.
So she agreed readily, "Alright, but my car is a bit shabby, I'm afraid you might not be comfortable."
Lana didn't even bother to be polite and just walked straight ahead.
Once in the car, Lana gave an address and kept talking on the phone, leaving Amelia with no chance to say a word like a full-time driver.
However, she did overhear some juicy gossip from the phone call—it seemed like Daniel Cooper was keeping other women behind his wife's back, and now they were on their way to catch him red-handed... What a mess!
Amelia wasn't in the mood for such drama since Daniel's affairs had nothing to do with her anymore. She figured it wasn't the right time to discuss business either, so she just wanted to drop Lana off and leave.
But Anna hinted that this was a good opportunity to get closer to Lana and insisted on going with her to show support.
Amelia had little respect for this clichéd "confronting the mistress" scenario, but she needed their help, after all.
Due to Lana's high social status, no one dared to stop them, so they went all the way up to the apartment.
Lana banging on the door seemed far from the typical lady of a wealthy family, more like an ordinary, shrewish woman.
Amelia found it somewhat amusing, as she stood to the side, ready to observe the show and wondered if Lana would pounce and beat the mistress when she appeared.
However, events often take unexpected turns.
Amelia never would've guessed the door would be opened by her new boyfriend, Isaac Thompson.
He was wearing a bathrobe, the loose collar revealing red marks on his chest that spoke for themselves.
The atmosphere instantly turned awkward, with everyone frozen on the spot.
Anna, the actress, was the first to react, "Sorry, we knocked on the wrong door. We didn't mean to disturb you."
She then quickly pulled Lana away.
Amelia, however, stood still, staring at Isaac for a full minute before asking, "You said you were going home to see your parents? Is your home here?"
A few days ago, Isaac suddenly took leave and said he needed to return home to tell his parents he'd finally found a wife and was planning to introduce her during the year-end visit.
She was somewhat moved by Isaac's actions back then, only to coincidentally stumble upon him fooling around with another woman tonight.
Life was getting pretty fucking interesting.
After asking her question, Amelia turned and walked away. Isaac followed, pleading, "Amelia, let me explain."
What was there to explain? She wasn't blind.
She kicked him in the stomach, and Isaac immediately doubled over, covering his abdomen. Amelia got into the elevator without looking back, the closing doors soon blocking out Isaac's voice.
When she walked out of the building, she saw Anna standing outside by herself, so she asked, "Where's Lana?"
"She was picked up by someone sent by Daniel Cooper. She got the wrong information and caused this farce." Anna then changed the subject, "Amelia, you saw how Lana looked like she wanted to kill the mistress earlier. She must know about your past with Daniel. I think we should come up with another plan."
Amelia frowned slightly. The events happened too suddenly, she felt angry at the time, but now when she calmed down, she realized tonight's events were a bit too coincidental.
