Daniel Cooper looked at her coldly, his piercing gaze making Lana Parker's heart race.
He stared into her eyes, his voice soft and steady, but every word made her heart race, "You can try, but if anything happens to her, I will bury the entire Parker family with her."
Lana shivered in fear. The three years of marriage had not produced an ounce of affection, yet his attitude towards her had become more and more hostile. "Also, that AIDS window period kidney source was arranged by your father, right?"
When mentioned, she became angrier, "It was you who searched for famous doctors all over the world to save that old man surnamed Foster like a dear son! My dad was worried that if he wakes up, he would reveal the old bombing case, and we'd be implicated..."
Daniel Cooper had no patience to listen and interrupted her, "Tell your dad that I won't let go of the bombing case and the car accident that framed Amelia. Just let him wait for prison."
Lana laughed angrily, "If you hate my father and me so much, why don't you simply divorce me?"
The man suddenly laughed, "Because having the title of the Director's son-in-law makes some things easier to investigate."
Lana couldn't believe her eyes, "Did you agree to marry me just to clear that bitch's name and investigate my dad?"
His cold laughter was filled with sarcasm, "What else? Could it be that I loved you?"
She screamed in anger, but the man had already opened the door, got out of the car, and left.
When Amelia Foster returned to the hospital, Nathan Taylor was already waiting downstairs with an umbrella, he bowed to her immediately, "Dr. Foster, Mr. Cooper has asked me to pick you up."
Perhaps because she resented everything related to Daniel, she had no liking for anyone around him. Still, Nathan's respectful attitude made it impossible for her to maintain a cold expression towards him. However, she avoided the umbrella, "You wait, I'll go up and get something."
Nathan politely said: "Mr. Cooper said everything is arranged, you don't need to bring anything."
Amelia's face turned cold, "If you're in a hurry, you go first. I know the way."
She had lived in this place for more than ten years; she could find her way even with her eyes closed.
Nathan felt a little embarrassed, thinking that this woman didn't know how to appreciate his kindness. Knowing how important she was to Mr. Cooper, he smiled, "I'm not in a hurry, please take your time."
Amelia went upstairs to retrieve her laptop and some papers. When her father had the accident, she was preparing for graduate school. Although she was admitted, she couldn't continue her studies. She worked and studied simultaneously, eventually completing her graduate course and currently preparing for the Research Institute.
After picking up some papers and her laptop, she received a text message from Daniel Cooper before even getting into the car:
[I'll come over tonight]
She stared at the message for a long time but ultimately didn't respond and just turned off the screen.
While opening the car door for her, Nathan, who had sharp eyes, caught a glimpse of the message. Looking at her face again, he thought it necessary to share Mr. Cooper's worries.
Once inside the car, he pretended to console her, "You don't need to worry about Professor Foster. Mr. Cooper has already hired professional senior caregivers, and in the last two days, Mr. Cooper has invited a top medical team to come and give the professor a consultation."
Amelia frowned, "Daniel Cooper arranged a medical team for my father?"
What does he mean "again"?
Nathan immediately feigned confusion, "Didn't Mr. Cooper tell you? For Professor Foster, Mr. Cooper has searched for world-class experts over the last two years."
"..."
Were all those experts who had consulted for her father brought in by Daniel Cooper?
But didn't the dean say that those experts were her father's old friends?
