Chapter 16 - Is your circle that messy? _1

Outside the Film and Television City.

Lyra Smith first booked a hotel near the Film and Television City, dropped off her luggage, and then entered Film and Television City.

Although San Carlos's Film and Television City is not as big as Henthy, it covers a large area. In the past few months, three or four drama crews have gathered here. Lyra is lucky that the first drama crew she encountered was the one shooting "Bright Moon".

She followed Martin Jenkins' instructions to find Master Eddie. At this time, the set hadn't started filming yet, and the crew was still setting up while waiting for the actors to finish their makeup, so it was easy for her to enter.

After asking around for a long time and not finding Master Eddie, she had no choice but to call Martin Jenkins.

He didn't answer.

She called again, but still no answer.

This wasn't the first time Martin had ignored her calls. Most of the time, he wouldn't answer her calls, and even if she asked him questions in person, he usually didn't respond because she hadn't reached the level where he needed to respond to her.

Lyra sighed while looking at her phone.

She thought, why bother?

She hadn't made any money in the entertainment industry and was just wasting her youth, finding ways to suffer. She decided to finish this job and be done with it.

She walked around the edge of the set and found another entrance. A few people came out of a door, and one of them said, "Professor Jackson is coming, go to my trailer and bring me a coffee without sugar."

The person speaking was the female lead of "Bright Moon," Melissa Anderson.

A newcomer who had just made a name for herself, she got a major role in Erwin Jackson's new drama with the company's support, and soon after joining the crew, news articles about her were flying everywhere.

Lyra knew Melissa, but only as an outsider who recognized a celebrity. When Melissa saw her, she only glanced at her and quickly looked away, expecting Erwin Jackson to enter.

Standing next to Melissa was likely her agent, who said, "Has Erwin Jackson's attitude towards you changed in these past few days?"

Melissa shook her head, "It's still the same."

Her agent said, "I paid a lot for the paparazzi, and they charge higher for private jobs. In these two days, you should interact more with Erwin Jackson and try to create some topics with higher news value."

Melissa looked dispirited, "To be honest, I'd rather have something real with Erwin Jackson, but he doesn't pay much attention to me. After the scenes, he goes back to his trailer, and I can't even see him."

"If you made your intentions more obvious, the progress wouldn't be like this," her agent straightened Melissa's costume. "Otherwise, take the script to his room tonight and chat with him."

Melissa hesitated, biting her lip, "Is that really okay?"

Her agent took her hands back and said in a flat tone, "It's up to you."

Melissa looked embarrassed and laughed shyly, replying, "Okay, I get it."

At this moment, four words floated in Lyra's mind: late-night script reading.

Is the entertainment industry really this chaotic?

Lyra stood in place for a while, thinking that she still hadn't found the director, so she planned to leave through this door. Just then, Erwin Jackson walked towards her. Even though he was wearing a mask, sunglasses, and a hat, Lyra recognized him at first glance.

She instinctively called out to him, "Erwin Jackson!"

Erwin glanced at her, nodded in response, and then brushed past her, walking inside.

It was almost like they were strangers!

Lyra turned around, seeing Melissa holding up her skirt and running to Erwin, affectionately saying, "Good morning, Professor Jackson."

Then she handed him the steaming hot coffee.

Erwin naturally took the coffee and replied, "Good morning, Rosy."

Rosy was the nickname of the female lead in "Bright Moon." Erwin called Melissa "Rosy" both on and off the set.

Melissa happily followed Erwin Jackson, both of them chatting and laughing as they walked towards the set.

Lyra looked at this scene, thinking, so the things said in youth can really be disregarded when grown up...
