Intro
Welcome to the universe of syrinxes - winged vampires, a multi-gender community.
For two thousand years, powerful magicians have been in an endless war with the flesh-eaters Zirux, who outnumber them, so they recruited mortal people to help, colonizing 22 planets and forcing women to give birth to half-breed offspring for the needs of the war.
The story begins with the first book, The Syrinxes of Zaria. The action takes place on an abandoned colony seven years away by space ship from the main stronghold of the planet Xantari, ruled by five ancient Archons.

She ran with all her might without looking back, along the path of the dusk forest to her hiding place carefully hidden inside the thick branches of a giant fur tree. Kamily for the first time in her life saw a winged vampire wandering through a thicket, a meeting with which did not bode well according to the stories of her mother Vinista who had recently died from a long illness.
Mysterious creatures sometimes visited people to seduce women and take them away for their needs. The poor things rarely returned and were out of their minds with no memory of what had happened to them during their absence.
Something similar happened to Vinista since she could not remember anything about her past: neither where did her daughter come from, nor who the father of the child was, nor why did she end up in a deep forest far from the settlements.
Kamily in childhood often persuaded her mother to live among people in towns protected from vampires, but she always refused, referring to the fact that she did not want to sit under lock and key in the house of some brutal man and produce children from him. She was repeatedly offered marriage by some wealthy peasant with a large house and garden, when she and her daughter visited large villages in search of work and their relatives.
The freedom-loving beauty has always brushed off the tempting offers saying that she is still in search of love. In fact, Vinista dreamed of family happiness but no one seriously attracted her so that she wanted to live with someone.
In the generous and fertile forests of Zaria, there was no shortage of sweet fruits and nourishing roots, berries and nuts grew in great abundance, so there were no problems with food, and Vinista and her daughter could live peacefully as hermits away from everyone. In addition, the elders of some towns opposed their appearance among the people and began to drive them away when Kamily was barely thirteen years old. Her beauty, atypical for an ordinary girl: foxy dark blue eyes, framed by thick black eyelashes, eyebrows in flight, graceful thin features, aroused the suspicion that her father was clearly not from people.
"Get out of here, wicked ones, or you'll bring trouble to our city," - one gray-haired old man shouted angrily, brandishing a pitchfork. - "We don't want the appearance of vampires in our forests.
"What a foolish thing to think she is the vampire" - Vinista was indignant, hugging her daughter to her. - She doesn't have wings."
"Prove then that her father is a man! If you don't remember anything about the details of her birth, that's a sure sign that you were kidnapped by these creatures. What family do you come from? Where did you come from? You don't know anything about yourself! Only respected people live here. Don't go here and don't embarrass men with your appearance."
Kamily woke up as dawn broke and looked out the window. The birds chirped softly, and no one was visible around. The girl decided to sit all day in a shelter so as not to run into a stranger.
By evening she had to leave the house for water; a spring stream gurgled in the rock in twenty paces away. Filling the ladle with water, Kamily turned and cried out in fright, spilling the water. Right in front of - the fantastic winged creature from the forest thicket.
"Why are you screaming like that? Don't be afraid!" - came his pleasant voice.
A handsome winged guy with a grin looked at her point-blank through long strands of hair shimmering like lavender-colored pearl with very unusual eyes: a lilac-colored iris with silvery sparks, pupils frightening with their shape of a multi-beam black star.
A head taller than her, the vampire stood so close that it was impossible to escape. His appearance was so striking that Kamily froze as if rooted to the spot, unable to take her eyes off him. She had never seen such handsome among men. The facial features are ideal and attractive: diamond-shaped face, large expressive eyes with thick black eyelashes, a neat, even nose, high cheekbones, a strong-willed chin, clear, light, smooth skin without any hair, shining like pale pink pearls, an elegant scarlet sensual mouth, a clear-cut dark eyebrows. The well-developed shoulders of his figure embossed in unusual gray clothes with bright blue stripes along the arms and body passed into a thin waist. Long slender legs were adorned with high gray boots with intricate glittering designs. She was especially impressed by his large elegant feathered wings ash-colored with a silvery sheen, the left one was tied with strips of fabric.
The guy with a slight grin looked at the girl and reveled in her reaction.
"What's your name, pretty?"
His eyes blazed bright purple.
