Chapter 2) The sun set over the edge of a forest, casting shadows over the ground and the silhouettes of the trees. A lone figure walks through the darkness towards the center of the field. It's not until the figure stops at the center of the field that the moonlight glares on the figure's face. The moonlight shines brightly upon the figure and reveals its face. The figure raises its head and screams, blood dripping from its mouth as the blood drips onto the earth and the soil.It raises its arm and throws a punch straight to its opponent, the moon reflects bright off of it and the fist meets with the enemy's cheek. The figure falls backward with a grunt and disappears into the darkness.
A few minutes later another person appears, this time wearing a mask. The man steps forward and starts to walk towards the body of his opponent. The man removes the mask and places it on top of his own hat. He picks up the mask and turns around in search of the other victim. "My name is Andrew Walker and this day is the beginning of the end!" He yells out loud while looking everywhere around him.
Andrew turns around to see the shadow of his opponent behind his own back, he reaches behind him and pulls out a gun. Andrew spins around quickly and points the gun directly at the shadow. However, when he turns around his gun is pointed at nothing. Andrew turns around again to see that his opponent is gone.He lets out a sigh of relief and smiles "Thank you, God..." He murmurs, the voice echoing throughout the dark forest.Andrew drops the gun and runs as fast as he possibly can toward where the other person went earlier.
He arrives near a hill covered in dead grass. Andrew looks to his left and finds his target standing at the top of the hill staring back at Andrew.Andrew lowers his head and lowers his gun as well, he bows slightly and says quietly "Thank you for your service.""Thank you for yours."His companion replies softly, she turns away from Andrew, crosses her arms and stares at the moon in the sky. Andrew turns around as well and follows suit, crossing his arms and staring at the moon in the sky. "Why are you here?" The man asks softly after a while. "To kill you.""I thought so... You are pretty brave..." The man comments, turning around and facing him. He holds out his hand and introduces himself to Andrew."I'm Alex… What's your name?""Andrew." The young man responds simply. "And yours?""Alex..." The man repeats. "What a strange name. I bet your parents named you that, huh?""Actually they're not from around here... My mom's name is Jessica Walker.""Ahh... So you're related to the Walker's then?" The man chuckles and nods. "Yes. We're all orphans.""Well then, congratulations to you... For finding us here and staying, I mean."Alex smiles awkwardly.
The conversation lulls for a bit and Andrew breaks it by asking if they should go back to the base. "We should really try to catch some sleep, we have to leave tomorrow." Alex replies. Andrew nods in agreement and goes back to his spot beside a tree. As he lies in his bed that night, his mind is filled with thoughts of a mysterious girl who lives nearby, whose family name he is not sure about and who is apparently his soulmate. He doesn't know how this girl managed to avoid the hordes roaming the countryside, nor does he know why she hasn't returned yet. He also wonders why she came to him instead of going back to her hometown. Why was she so desperate to escape? Is she really just a survivor? Or is she the killer in disguise?
