Chapter 75 - Chapter 75 - Taking in of ostracized peoples

Lloyd's POV

I soon received reports of loved ones and families of my childhood friends and Langton's discarded soldiers and military officials being ostracized by the whole of Langton, especially by the higher classes. According to my Undead animal spies who gave me those reports, those people were harassed, gossiped, and belittled by everyone else because their loved ones were considered political outcasts and traitors by the government. Because of it, I was quite upset, and I began to think about them. Eventually, an idea struck my mind: taking them into my country and giving them a better life in my unique society. So, with that in mind, I called Zeke and Sati through Hale. Hale did so, and 10 minutes later, Zeke and Sati came in.

"What is it, sir?" Sati asked me.

"I had received reports that the loved ones and families of my childhood friends and the ex-Langton soldiers and military officials had been ostracized by the entirety of Langton because of their loved ones' crimes against the state," I replied back briefly, "so I would like to take them in."

My three subordinates in this room were taken aback by it and were angry at Langton for treating them like that.

 "What?!"

 "Those selfish, damned humans!"

"Why it had to be like this?"

"Yes," replied I, "so, how's that sound? We'll decide this with the rest of you guys."

"Okay, sure, let's go with that," Zeke responded positively.

And so, later before lunchtime, we had a meeting at the main administrative house's meeting room with the rest of the Undead animal chieftains, discussing my idea and its possible drawbacks and downsides. All of them were stunned after I showed them the reports from my country's spies and were angered by it, calling Langton selfish and despotic. So, all of them agreed, feeling sorry for the ostracized. Though I didn't expect all of them to agree with my proposal, I was quite positive about this outcome.

So, by nighttime, we sent over 27 Undead soldiers to Langton's borders to rescue and help those who wanted to escape the country's culture of ostracism and public shaming because of their loved ones' betrayal of their country. Luckily, the soldiers found a couple of families, mostly from the lower classes attempting to flee Langton, and went on to give them aid in their escape. So, by the next day, that first batch of families, which surprisingly were the families of my childhood friends, arrived here in the capital. My childhood friends were surprised to see them again and were emotional at their reunion. Their families never condemned them for their recent actions against Hertzel and Langton and let it slide as justice for coercing them to join Hertzel's ex-party with threats of public shaming. My subordinates and I were happy for them, and those families and others whom our soldiers had rescued thanked us for helping them escape. Soon after, we continued our operation, known as Operation Mordecai, to other families of the ex-Langton soldiers and military officials for the next few days. And then, while that happened, I wrote a taunting, scolding letter to the king of my former homeland and sent it via an Undead bird messenger.
