Being a mother is one amazing thing. The bond between a mother and her children is greater than anything . To those boys I was their queen ,the boss ,they everything .They loved me unconditionally , and depended on me . They did not judge me of my past ,or hate for my flaws ,to them I was perfect . They were the only people who knew my heartbeat .
God knows those boys were my everything . They were unbreakable at birth ,so we decided to buy them the same stuff . Their nursery was all blue and filled with all manly cartoons . It was filled with toys and a lot of other stuff ,but each side of their sleeping cot ,there was a rugby player . They did not really sleep much in there ,I usually preferred sleeping with them on my bed and poor Malik crashed on the couch ,or with Kyle .
Those boys had everyone wrapped around their tiny fingers . I had them spend three months indoors . Legacy the older one had big blue eyes like Malik ,he also had brown curly hair ,and a tiny nose like mines . As for Loyalty ,he had an afro hair like mommy ,and brown eyes ,he looked just like me ,but with Malik's complexion and attitude ! Kyle helped a lot with the boys . Malik got me help to the house and I spent most of my times with all my three babies ,yes I considered Kyle my son ,which to some extent he was .
Malik was counting days ,marking them out in the calendar .He couldn't wait for us to take the boys out to the park on their double twin pram. He wanted to show them off to the world . The first place he wanted us to take them was the park ,so they could experience the fresh air . Legacy was the calm one ,did not cry a lot ,or have too much demands and I believed he took after me . But as for loyalty Tasha told me he was just as Malik ,screamed his lungs out and wanted all the attention . I didn't know you could love someone so much . They adored their uncles ,they would laugh and fill the room with happiness ,when they watched their uncles goof off .
The twins were turning four months on that day and it was the day they were going out doors and going to the park ,it was a special event . I had Loyalty sleeping on my chest and Legacy was already awake ,tossing and turning on my arm. It amazing how fat they had grown ,well all they ever did was eat and sleep . Legacy had started sitting on his own ,whilst Loyalty was lazy . Talking about fat ,I still had baby weight and had no time for gym . Every time they fell asleep ,I would sit and watch them ,waiting for them to wake up so I could spend more time with them .I cared about nothing else, but their wellbeing and happiness .
Malik had spent the night with Kyle ,and they slowly tip toed inside the room to find us all wide awake and just playing on the bed with Legacy ,While Loyalty was feeding . There was this time when Kyle begged me to let him taste and when I did let him taste ,he told me it was too gross . Kyle came and sat next to Legacy and played with him . He was so gentle with them and they also loved him a lot .
" I can't wait for today " Malik said that removing Loyalty and burping him . I sat up and he kissed me on my forehead . " Isn't it too early ...something just doesn't feel right !" He just assured me ,all was going to be fine. It was time they experienced the fresh air from the grass and the earth . He went out to fix on the car seats on the car as I put the twins on their pram and fixed some food for Kyle .
I was reluctant about the trip to the park ,but I had to let them grow . Malik came back and help me prep the boys. We bathed them and that wore their customized made rugby t-shirts and the same shorts . The weather was perfect it was sunny and no wind . I also got cleaned up whilst Malik took care of them . I got to dress up and actually put on some make up after a long time . The boys fell asleep Malik went to take a bath and I packed a picnic bag ,and the boy's nappy bag .
We were all ready to go and on the way Kyle and Malik kept on singing camp songs ,on a picnic trip . We finally reached the park .Malik carried the bags and I put the boys on to their pram and we first walked to the dam .Kyle decided to feed all our bread to the ducks ,because they seemed to be starving . The boys actually loved being outside and seeing new things they didn't know existed . I received complements from everyone about how cute they were ,just like their mom . We all sat down ,laid a blanket on the ground and put the twins down . And for the first time Loyalty actually sat up . They both sat up ,they looked so adorable . We fed them some yogurt ,and they couldn't get enough of it ,when it was time for them to drink up their milk ,thy did not want it . We took a thousand pictures all together.
We spent about three hours at the park and Kyle and Malik played some ball together ,and the twins and I we're cheering them on . It was getting a little cold ,so Malik and I decided it was time. To get back home .
We packed up all our stuff and I got the twins dressed in to some warm clothes . Malik held Kyle's hand ,carried the bags and I pushed the twins on their pram . We were walking towards the road ,to cross and reach the car . Kyle was throwing a tantrum he wanted some ice cream ,he slipped of Malik's hand and began to run off I was already by the road on the pavement waiting to cross . Malik shouted and I turned to check what was going on .
" Malik just get him some .." I couldn't even finish my sentence because this car came speeding out of nowhere ,it was heading straight for me even though I was on the pavement .I remember trying to pull the twins away so we could move away. But it just happened so fast I fell on to the ground on my back and I was out of if for some time . I heard crash sounds and Malik scream out my name " LORNA NOOO ! " . He began running towards me ,when I sat up I saw the red jeep race off in full speed .
My babies ,I looked around for their pram . When I stood up ...there it was the pram of my twins scattered on the floor near the pavement . It was flat on the floor ,there was no cry and there was a puddle of blood on the road . It was my boys ,the car smashed them up in just a minute . I went on my knees I was too weak to stand ,Malik ran up to the scene and he went down on his knees and screamed out loud ,whilst crying out a river. People ran up to us ,some came to help me up .
I took a few steps and finally got there ,people had made a circle ,and I just moved them out of the way. When I saw what had had happened . I had never felt that pain before , I couldn't express it .There was the body on the ground and it was fault on the ground ,my other baby was under the pram and only his feet was visible . That image was going to stay on my mind forever . The blood on that road . I just sat down near there and I could feel the blood wet my pants ,Malik tried to remove me " LEAVE ME ALONE ! " I pushed him away and sat there until the ambulances ,the police and the undertakers came to clean up . I did not even shed one tear but I sat there in denial and hoping it was not happening .
