To their dismay, the tomb seemed to have no visible entrance, causing them to ponder on how they would find a way inside. Simon, always one to explore unconventional methods, pressed his hands against the wall of the tomb, tracing his fingers along the inscriptions that adorned it. The intricate markings bore a striking resemblance to a puzzle, leaving them both perplexed.
Turning to each other in search of answers, Simon directed the question at Ivy, "Any idea what these inscriptions could mean?"
Ivys brows furrowed, she shook her head and replied, "I'm afraid I'm clueless on this one."
Determined to unravel the mystery, Simon continued to run his hand along the wall until he stumbled upon what appeared to be a combination lock. Hope flickered in their eyes as they tried to deduce the possible combination, yet their efforts yielded no immediate result.
Simon, put forth a rather unconventional suggestion, "Maybe we should try Baby Jesus' birthday. Whichever psycho devised a lock like this might use a historical date."
Ivy hesitated, confessing, "But we don't know when Jesus actually was born."
Simon grinningly proposed, "Well, let's try Christmas Day then. It's as good a guess as any."
With bated breath, they entered the numbers 2512, hopeful for a positive outcome. Yet, as the seconds ticked away, the tomb remained resolute and unmoving. They delved deeper into their thoughts. In a moment of inspiration, Simon turned to Ivy and inquired
"Do you happen to know which verse in the Bible that mentioned Elisha taking up Elijah's mantle?"
Confusion clouded Ivy's eyes as she admitted, "I've never really been to church before, so I don't know."
Simon paced back and forth, searching his memory, until at last, a spark of recognition ignited within him.
Excitedly, he urged Ivy, "Try the combination 2213! It corresponds to 2 Kings, Chapter 2, Verse 13."
Ivy entered the numbers, and to their immense relief, the tomb slowly revealed its hidden entrance.
Overwhelmed with joy and triumph, they embraced each other, the excitement overshadowed only by an inexplicable tension of budding affection. As quickly as they locked eyes, they parted from each other's embrace, suddenly bashful and unsure. Attempting to lighten the mood, Simon couldn't resist boasting about his knowledge of history and the Bible.
He proudly declared, "You know, I did attend Sunday School when I was a kid. It seems that thanks to me, we'll finally obtain what we came for."
Ivy couldn't help but smile, remarking, "You never change, do you?"
Brushing off the awkwardness, they stepped forward, entering the now-open tomb, where the remains of Elisha peacefully rested, their grand quest on the verge of fulfillment.
Ivy prepared to practice the ancient magic of necromancy, channeling her energy to awaken Elisha from his eternal slumber. With mystical incantations filling the air, she chanted the words
"Apareo umbra cadilos undah confinum luman Elisha umbrah" three times, her voice steadily growing in intensity.
As the final words left her lips, the ground beneath them trembled, causing Simon to quickly seek shelter. Slowly, Elisha's skeleton stirred, lifting itself from its resting place.
"Who has awakened me from my slumber?", he asked.
Simon couldn't help but utter, his voice filled with disbelief, "Oh my God! This must be a dream! I can'tfathom... Did that thing just speak?"
Ivy, awestruck by the presence of the awakened prophet, acknowledged his greatness. She explained that they sought the mantle of Elijah. Elisha's voice laced with curiosity, and he inquired about their purpose. Before Ivy could respond, Simon cheekily remarked,
"Man! You look so dead. How long have you been gone?"
Elisha, still adjusting to the new world around him, asked, "What generation is this?"
With a smirk, Simon retorted, "This is the Gen Z generation! We've got iPads, iPhones, and all sorts of modern technology. I'm sorry you'll never get to see it."
"What is I... I... Pad? I guess I have been asleep for a very long time, perhaps you could take me along with you!" Elisha asked curiously.
Simon laughed, placing his hands on the wall beside him. " This is not Halloween .. Besides, have you even looked at yourself? If I didn't know as much, I would have run off and left my shoes here the moment I say you"
Attempting to refocus the conversation, Ivy nudged Simon, reminding him to be serious.
"Pro... Prophet .... Errmmm Mr .. Mr.. Elisha, could you kindly point us to where we would find the mantle?, Ivy stuttered.
Elisha's question resonated once more, asking why they sought his master's mantle. Ivy, her voice filled with sorrow, confessed that she needed it to bring her deceased parents back to life, blaming herself for their demise.
After a moment's pause, Elisha reluctantly agreed to assist them, He told them that the mantle was buried with him and they had to lift him to take it.
Simon's eyes widened "There's no way im lifting you bro... I mean pro.... whatever... there's just no way in this world that im touching you" he said.
Sensing Simon's lack of seriousness, Ivy pleaded with him to put an end to his jests and she signaled him to cooperate.
Together, they gingerly lifted Elisha's delicate remains, discovering the sacred mantle of Elijah beneath him. A wave of triumph washed over Ivy as she exclaimed
"Yes!"
Simon, joining in the excitement, added his own exclamation
"Finally!"
Elisha, still concerned about the potential misuse of the mantle, cautioned them, "Beware, for in the wrong hands, the mantle could bring about great evil and remember to always trust each other, no matter what."
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Ivy thanked Elisha for his assistance. It was then that Simon suggested they lay Elisha back to rest.
" Wai ... wai.. wait... please take me with you. I need to see I.. Iphone" Elisha begged.
Suddenly, Ivy chanted again "Despero umbra Elisha undah," a sense of peace washed over them.
Elisha's lifeless skeletal form gently settled back into its grave, the remnants of his presence fading away.
Catching their breath, Simon let out a chuckle, unable to contain his amusement. "Wow! That was quite a show!"
Together, they stood silently, appreciating the journey they had undertaken.
