Ivy tucked herself inside the blanket, covering her face so she wouldn't hear Jasmine's taunting voice, but that didn't help as there was no sound proof in the blanket.
She rolled over to the other side of the bed trying to get off Jasmine's reach but to her dismay Jasmine was not ready to give up, she climbed up the bed and started pulling away the blanket Ivy had covered herself with.
"What's with you Jas? Let me sleep", Ivy said burying her face in the pillow.
"Wake up Girl, you don't want to be late for School, stop being such a big baby," Jasmine replied, and she tickled Ivy, causing Ivy to flinch and quickly grab a pillow and threw it at Jasmine, who swerved and ran off before Ivy could get the chance of grabbing the second pillow.
"Get your lazy ass off that bed and get ready for school," she yelled from outside the room, giggling and making sure Ivy hard her. Ivy sluggishly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom.
After taking her bath, Ivy went downstairs to join the others for breakfast.
"Good morning aunt,"Ivy greeted, pulling out a chair opposite her aunt, "Good morning sweetheart, Did you sleep well?" Cecilia asked smiling, and sipping from the cup of coffee In her hand,
"Umm not really, not after Jasmine disrupted my beautiful dream," she replied pouting her lips.
"Uhn uhn did I wake you from your fantasy, that's too bad, But I wasn't the one who stayed up late talking to Simon," Jasmine interjected, mimicking the face of a crying baby, and what was the dream about again? So you were having some exclusive moments with Simon Huhn?" Jasmine quizzed teasingly.
"That's none of your business, quit interfering," Ivy said rolling her eyes playfully.
"Okay ladies the clock is ticking, The bus would soon be here," Cecilia said interrupting their banter.
"Why is uncle not having breakfast with us," Ivy suddenly inquired with chunks of pancake In her mouth, Cecilia told her that her uncle had left earlier to work. The rest of the breakfast was done in silence. Cecilia offered to clear the dishes and the girls headed to School.
As they got down from the bus they held hands like siamese twins who are inseparable, laughing and chatting as they walked into the school premises.
Back at Simon's House, he had just woken up and realized that an ample of time had gone by, he had ignored the sound of his alarm earlier which was the reason why he overslept, his mom persuaded him to eat but he couldn't eat much as he was in a hurry to go to school.
"Mum, i've had enough, I will eat more when I get back from school," Simon told his mother who wanted him to have more food, and he placed the cup of water he was drinking on the table.
"Ju-" Hilda was interrupted by Simon, " Mum I'm fine, trust me," he said, and moved closer to his mum and gave her a peck. He reached for his back pack and hurriedly left for school.
Just as the school bell was about to ring, Simon arrived At school, he hurriedly went to keep the chocolate he had bought for lvy in her locker, A fulfilled smiled playing on his face as he headed to class, enthusiasm written all over him.
On arriving the classroom he didn't see Ivy in the class, he decided to call her, just as he reached his pocket to take his phone someone covered his eyes from behind, he Instantly recognized the owner of the hand covering his face.
"Ivy? I know it's you, the scents of your perfume had already given you out, I wouldn't mistake that for any anything," trying to pull the hands off his face, but the grip was tighter. Ivy finally let go of his face and they both started laughing in unison.
Just then, they sighted the principal coming into the class, and they hurriedly went to have their sit, the principal was with a woman Who looked like she will be in her late thirties, she was wearing a skirt that was too tight, and looked as if it was glued to her skin, and a slightly loose shirt, wearing a shoe with a pointed heel, which was making a clacking sound as she walked behind the principal, she was introduced as the new mathematics teacher. Their former maths teacher had moved to his hometown to take care of family business.
"Now I know why her skirt look well caculated ," Simon whispered to Ivy who with great difficulty with hold her laughter, Simon was referring to the fact that her skirt was as if they have pasted it her on her skin, hiding away her almost invisible curves. The principal left and the new teacher addressed the class.
"I am Miss Jacqueline Coker, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better, and I hope we have a good time together," she had a charming smile on her, she is beautiful regardless. She walked to the board and began writing down the topic for the day.
Ivy was flipping through the pages of her book, focused on doing her homework, when she was distracted by the sound of her ringing phone, a smile formed on her face as she saw the caller.
"Hey Simon" she blushed as she answered the phone.
"My sweet little wit-" his words were cut short by Ivy.
"I've got a name,"she said trying not to laugh, feigning seriousness.
"Ooooh sorry your royal highness, your humble servant apologise," Ivy could guess that he was making a slight bow as he said that, which made her laugh at her best friends humour, they talked for a while, laughing and teasing each other, and Ivy had to continue with her homework, so they hanged up the call.
A very thick darkness, awkward silence, the gentle flow of the river and a heavy groan from someone that sounded old, and in pain. Nothing could be seen except two shiny eyes that were barely visible.
"Argh," the voice echoed in the dark, you could hardly detect the gender of the person speaking, pain and anger could be sensed in the voice.
"I won't be defeated like this, I have never been so humiliated, oh mother earth come to my rescue, I must accomplish my mission," the voice said almost in tears.
"Coooome! Mother earth!" the voice yelled and slowly faded away, and the darkness gave way to a bright and sunny day.
"listen up everyone, be quiet everyone!" the principal's voice echoed through the microphone, they hall immediately became silent. They have been waiting for some minutes for the principal to come and address them, while waiting, some of them were chatting with their friends, some were listening to music and so many other things, but the principal's voice brought them back to composure. The principal gave them time to get back to postion and finally spoke up.
"Good afternoon everyone, it's that time of the year again when we showcase our talents and have fun, it will be held in the 20th of this month, kindly submit your name and your talent to the school administration, if you are interested to participate, and don't forget the best student will get a reward," her speech was ended with a clapping ovation.
"Ivy, you should show them a little bit of your witch powers, you'll definitely get the reward," he said with a grin, he turned to look at Ivy who only glared at him, shaking her head, without saying a word, he tried holding Ivy's hand but she moved back, Just then Jasmine came to meet them.
