Just as I had guess my eyes immediately found Rex sitting there, lost in thought. Without a word, I approached him quietly. In an instant, my hand connected with the back of his head.
SMACK!
"Ow!" Rex yelped, his hand instinctively reaching to the spot where my hand had landed on his head. He spun around, searching for the culprit with a mix of confusion and irritation.
When his gaze landed on me, a mixture of surprise and relief washed over his face. "S.B, what was that for?" he asked, still rubbing the back of his head.
"That," I replied firmly, taking a seat beside him, "was for causing me unnecessary worry and for being a complete idiot."
"What do you mean?" Rex asked, his voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of defensiveness.
"I heard you are planning on leaving home," I responded, my tone serious.
Rex immediately removed his hand from the back of his head and turned to face forward, his expression guarded.
