"Now let's not dwell on sad memories," Rex said, taking the picture from me and placing it back in the drawer. "We should do something fun. I know, pillow fight," he suggested with a mischievous grin.
"Pillow fight?" I asked, a bit confused by the sudden shift in mood.
Before I could fully process Rex's words, a pillow hit me on the head, followed by another on my back. I quickly grabbed a pillow from the bed and joined in, engaging in a full-blown pillow fight with Rex. We ran around the room, laughing hysterically as we hit each other with pillows.
After a few minutes of goofing around, we collapsed onto the bed, facing the ceiling as we tried to catch our breath.
My hair was a mess, tangled in unruly places. As I sat up to fix it, Rex surprised me by pulling me on top of him, causing my heart to skip a million beats within seconds.
"W-What are you doing?" I stammered, shock written all over my face.
