Dracon's roar echoed all around us, it was a symphony of terror and a cacophony of thunderous power that resonated throughout the whole room. In other words he was pissed off.
Before I showed up he went easy on them but when I did show up and smacked his head right into the ground, he was heavily determined to eat me.
Rachel rushed towards me as Dracon swung his tail towards my face.
"Water magic: Hydrokinetic blades!"
Magical properties surrounded the two arms of Rachel before assuming the shape of two blades on her arms, she leaped towards the tail of Dracon before it could reach me and spun several times cutting cleanly the tail of Dracon into multiple pieces.
She landed in front of me on her right knee and turned swiftly to face Cedric and Helena.
"We got the heaven's paradice, let's get out of here!"
They nodded in agreement, Helena more than him. I could only imagine what she felt. Being powerless like this in the face of danger such as mythological creatures.
Getting up to my feet, we rushed towards their side in haste now that Dracon was recovering from losing his tail.
"Hang on!"
Cedric exclaimed.
He crouched as he placed his hands on the ground beneath us, Dracon's roar increased expressing his pain and anger simultaneously.
"Geokinesis!"
Using the same spell yet again, he manipulated the earth by infusing his magic into it which caused the ground beneath us to elevate towards the opening in the ceiling where we fell from.
As Dracon recovered we already got to the top of the ceiling and ran as fast as we could out of the temple.
BOOM!
The ground we ran on had a hole blown through it from behind us, Dracon wasn't going to let us escape with the heaven's paradice after Solarius had entrusted him with the task of protecting it all those centuries ago.
He chased us from behind slithering as fast as his stomach could go, we got through the golden gates and I stopped as the rest of them kept running up the staircase.
"Xavier what are you doing!?"
Helena yelled at me and I have to admit it was a bit annoying.
"Just go! I'll slow the bastard down."
I shut the golden gates quickly before jumping towards the staircase, it didn't take much for Dracon to pulverize the gates swiftly.
"Well that was stupid."
I wasted valuable time necessary for escape, good news though was I am more of a target to Dracon than the others with the distance I bought them.
I reached the entrance to the pyramid and met Cedric's geokinesis in action as they had already gone ahead, he paved a path for me to cross however the serpent was right behind me permitting it to evade the spikes as well.
I leaped into the reverse pond and swam upwards towards the waterfall with Dracon hot on my tail or my ass. I leaped out the water, immediately my legs touched the side of the wall that leads upwards to the cliff, wind magic surrounded my body as a whole.
"Aero Surge!"
I ran upwards on the side of the walls, thanks to the aero surge spell my body was placed at a speed that allowed me to run up the walls of a tall building or mountain.
The serpent was annoyingly persistent, It roared ghastly as it's head escaped the water and he slithered up the walls. It was a large creature from the myth and arguably a durable one too.
"Look out Ya fool!"
"Shut up!"
Helena exclamations only made me even more annoyed as they all stared down at me from the top of the cliff.
"Heh."
Dracon slammed it's head on the wall as he slithered up. Thanks to his size the force he applied sent a vibration up the walls of the cliff, The vibrations knocked Helena's hands off balance as she used it to support herself as she stared downwards at us.
She fell off the cliff.
"Damn it!"
Cedric and Rachel tried to catch her but were too late in doing so, now it was left to me. I've saved this woman many times and I'm so seeking a suitable appraisal from her after all this.
Helena screamed in terror as she saw what she was falling towards, at this point I didn't know what was more annoying, the fact that I had a 20 foot tall serpent chasing me from behind or the fact that I had to save the banshee falling towards me.
From the walls I leaped upwards towards Helena and caught her in a bridal style position, however we fell into the serpent's trapped. Looking down we saw it's mouth widened open with it's sharp fangs heading towards us, Helena screamed in my ears and I felt like offering her as a sacrifice to Dracon.
"Tsk..Sacred Wind Arts: Wind Boreal Blast!"
Magical properties were gathered in my stomach before converting to wind energy as I inhaled deeply with my mouth. I emitted a large spiraling blast of concentrated wind like a vortex towards the head of Dracon.
The blast spun Dracon several times before it was completely overwhelmed by it, it was forced into the lake and back at the dimension the pyramid resided in. The wind Boreal Blast also acted as a propeller in my case.
I was launched towards the edge of the cliff, Helena slumped to her knees, visibly shakened by the experience of almost being food for a more superior life form.
"Come on we gotta keep moving, we can't risk that thing coming after us!"
Cedric raised a cause for alarm, to Helena at least. We all ran back into the Shinigami's forest as quickly as possible before Dracon had the chance to come back up. As we ran through the forest, the eyes of several creatures which glowed red and all lived here stared at us making their presence known.
"Uh guys!"
Helena was alerted greatly at their sights, having a non-mage embark on an adventure with us really was a hassle.
"Don't worry about them."
I spoke to calm her down.
"Why!?"
I didn't respond anymore, all I had was a smug look written all over my face and they could all see it.
"What did you do to those poor creatures Xavier?"
Rachel noticed it, my smile made it obvious that I had something to do with them not attempting to devour us.
"Hehehe.."
