Chapter 49
The spar didn't happen. Sadly. Zarracen would have loved to be sparring right now testing her abilities against the Demi-God currently settled on the couch behind her. She herself was sitting around the fireplace so close the heat felt scalding. Yet, to Zarracen it felt like a soft blanket hovering around her skin. Not even a bead of sweat fell down her brow. It felt good. And yet it concerns her slightly. The feeling of the fire wasn't what concerned her.
It was how it was making her feel at home and how she wanted to just lay in the burning embers. Self-immolation without the ensuing death. It was comforting feeling that she shouldn't have from fire. Or perhaps, it's because of the stark iciness coming from Isabella that she wanted to be by the fireplace in the first place.
