Felicia was troubled when she saw Henry leave. She saw the anger on his face and decided to stay there.
It was a weird feeling being scared of her own son. However, Henry was also someone from the past. It was the only thing making her feel that it was normal.
Felicia looked at the tiny stream of mana nectar. She blinked repeatedly and closed her eyes. She got down on her knees and licked the white liquid all over the cave floor.
She felt aroused. She had done this many times in the past, but not in this way. The feeling was amplified because of the mana nectar infusing with her body and combining with the mana in her hands.
After a long time, she had finished licking all of the mana nectar and a pleasant expression was on her face. She looked longingly at the hole made by Henry where the mana nectar dripped.
It would still drip from time to time, and she would let it fall to the ground before licking it.
After a while, she realized that the mana nectar stopped coming.
It had been appearing at timely intervals. She memorized the timing, and it was weird.
She decided to wait a bit more, but it was still not dripping.
She was shocked as she realized that the mana nectar was gone now.
Perhaps, all of them had already dripped out?
Felicia was saddened. Just as she was about to head down to wait for Henry.
She heard some footsteps, and she raised her guard in response.
She saw a skinny figure with no clothes. He had bloodshot eyes and a ghastly face.
"Ah!"
Felicia's hair stood on end as she was about to wave her hand to cast a spell when she realized who it was.
"Dear!"
If she wasn't his mother, she wouldn't have recognized him at all!
She hurriedly ran over and grabbed his shoulders. She looked at his bloodshot eyes and trembled.
"What happened to you???"
She was about to cry. Her son was hurt so much that her heart was being torn apart.
"Thanks to you, I overcame the shadow in my heart," Henry said, his words full of sincerity.
"What do you mean?"
Henry lifted his hand up and showed her the piece of paper. It was beautifully preserved and still looked the same as he remembered.
Felicia looked at it blankly.
"What is that?"
Henry smirked and answered. "This is a page from my magic tome in my previous life."
Felicia paused and took a closer look at the page. There were writings there that she couldn't understand. She remembered the power it exuded when she faced it before.
"Is it really?"
She couldn't feel anything from it.
"It is, but it's only part of the 120-page book. When they are all together, I can channel my mana into the book and show you its full power and glory."
Henry was smiling from ear to ear. This page was full of his memories. To him, it hadn't been long since he died, but he could feel in the world that a lot had changed.
This page was proof of his existence in his previous life and that made him feel reassured. The loneliness he felt decreased a little.
Felicia's gaze turned to one of amazement. This unseemingly ordinary piece of paper could actually show that power.
"Let's go. There's nothing left for us here," Henry said and took a pained step forward.
"Wait! Your injuries…"
"I can heal myself and you can heal me too. It's fine."
"What about the fish?"
"I'll cook it in the future."
"You should heal first!"
Felicia pulled his arm and stopped him from taking a further step. Henry sighed and let her pull him. He looked at her.
She waved her two hands and green lights floated to surround Henry's body. They slowly healed him. Each spell would only speed up his healing, but they wouldn't do much.
Their effects were imperceptible.
Henry shook his head and sat down.
A Simple-class could never heal his injuries. To help her, he inhaled the mana in the surroundings and injected them to his injuries.
It would be impossible if he didn't know mana to a great extent, but because he did, he was able to improve the effects of the spell to become Low-class.
That change allowed his wounds to visibly heal. Albeit very slowly.
Felicia frantically waved her hands until she could feel her mana starting to thin.
Henry immediately stopped her when she was about to use her mana that kept her in the Simple-class.
"Stop. This is enough."
Henry stood up. He was full of injuries, but he looked much better than before.
His bloodshot eyes had returned to normal, and his face was thin but not ghastly anymore. Overall, he only looked malnourished instead of an injured person.
Felicia was reluctant but nodded her head. She understood the implication of overdrawing her mana. It could very well turn her back to being a commoner.
The duo walked out and the outside was starting to brighten. The sun was rising over the horizon already.
Henry waved his hand and a weak fog surrounded the guard who was awake.
They sneaked away under his confusion.
They returned to their hut. At this time, the miners were starting to wake up and eat their breakfast.
"We made it in time," Henry said and smiled.
Felicia smiled in return and made him lie on the bed.
She cupped his cheek and stared at him with eyes full of love.
"You're my son today, Master," Felicia said with a cheeky grin.
"All right…"
Henry felt warmth in his heart. He allowed her just this time because he saw in her eyes that she truly was concerned for him.
She recovered her mana for a bit and then continued to wave her hands repeatedly.
The foreman came to check on them, and Felicia told him that Henry was very sick and would like to be left with her.
A whole day passed, and Henry finally recovered. It was all thanks to his internal help and Felicia's external help. It was something that would have been impossible if she wasn't here.
