Flashing white lights made Heng Xīnyán hesitate to open her eyes. The pain of feeling her soul leave her body left a terrible imprint on Heng Xīnyán. The ripping of her soul from her physical flesh was still fresh in Heng Xīnyán's mind.
The hatred she felt sought into her soul as she remembered that ungrateful Clan of hers.
The hate that she carried was so strong that a black fog of resentment engulfed her entire soul, eroding her sane mentality. Heng Xīnyán slowly lost her mind to the influence of her strong resentment when a lofty voice entered her ears.
"Hmm, a new soul excluding so much hate?" Heng Xīnyán furrowed her brows and fought back the resentment to open her eyes. The blinding light, made her eyes squint before she fully opened her clear eyes. Then, she scowled at the male before her.
The male looked surprised, "Ah… So you can control it?" He asked interest entering his silver-coloured eyes and Heng Xīnyán looked at him with caution as she slowly got up from her lying position.
Glaring at him with hostility, the male merely raised the corner of his lips. "Can't you talk?" He inquired, stepping away from her as he saw her rose from her previous lying down.
"Where am I?" Both of them were surprised at her coarse-sounding voice. Heng Xīnyán frowned. She looked at the male as she tried using her Qi but surprise made her brows furrow deeply. She then looked at the male with suspicion.
The male backed away with a laugh. A yellow floral fan, hid his lips before he spoke, "You are in Ghost Cult."
Heng Xīnyán's eyes widen in surprise, "Ghost… Cult?" She stuttered as she was in the place, her seniors talked about with strange seriousness. "The place in the legends?"
The male nodded, "Yes. My name is Yun Jiaolong and I will show you around."
Heng Xīnyán looked at him, "Cloud dragon?" She asked and Yun Jiaolong nodded with a light smile. "Yes, maiden."
"Now the tour," he waved his hand and a white cloud formed beneath their feet making Heng Xīnyán look at him warily. Yun Jiaolong laughed, using the fan to cover his face, "No need to be so cautious, maiden. I mean no harm."
Heng Xīnyán nodded before asking, "My spiritual powers… I cannot use them." Yun Jiaolong closed his fan with a delighted smile, "That's normal."
"Why?" She asked.
"Because, you are merely a soul from the mortal world, that left its physical barrier because of some accident but worry not, soon you'll have them back," Yun Jiaolong explained, his silver eyes looking down at the endless green trees under them.
Heng Xīnyán followed his lead and observed the endless green forest, "In what way can I regain my spiritual powers?"
"Anxious?" Yun Jiaolong probed and Heng Xīnyán nodded with her eyes darkening lightly yet she fought down her resentment before Yun Jiaolong could notice.
"It's simple," Yun Jiaolong mused after a long pause.
Heng Xīnyán looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
"One… you join a sect here in Ghost Cult," he started and Heng Xīnyán immediately refused that option. She hated being under people's command after her previous encounter in the moral realm.
"Or you find out on your own," Yun Jiaolong's silver eyes flashed and Heng Xīnyán found herself falling from the cloud, she previously stood on.
With a narrowed gaze in the male's direction. Heng Xīnyán muttered, "I will come back for my revenge, Yun Jiaolong!" she gritted out bitterly watching as the male simply flicked his yellow Hanfu's sleeve before leaving leisurely obviously not taking her threat seriously.
As he left her falling sight, Heng Xīnyán let out her hatred that turned into a deep endless black fog that consumed her rationality.
Cushioning her soul from the heavy knock from the forest ground, Heng Xīnyán stood, her previous black eyes now glowing with hatred as she crawled towards a little pond.
She looked into it, seeing her pale face. Her pink lips cracked an eerie smile as she saw the climbing black fog on her body. Heng Xīnyán sat up, looking for danger as well as trying to channel her spiritual powers. Only for it to not work.
Frowning, Heng Xīnyán muttered, "Is the cultivation method here different?"
Standing, Heng Xīnyán held her waist as she looked up at the sky through the big leaves of the cluttered trees. "Well, this is going to be hard." She sighed lightly, moving in the silent forest with no direction in mind.
Heng Xīnyán heard the force of water, making her know that it was a waterfall, with pending thirst as well as a strange hunger. Heng Xīnyán made her way to the source. Seeing the waterfall she faintly wondered if she cultivated under the waterfall, if it would work and if she would regain her spiritual energy.
Entering the water, Heng Xīnyán trembled lightly yet held her waist lightly as she stepped into the waterfall slowly. Sitting under the waterfall, Heng Xīnyán folded her legs as she entered her Dantian.
Seeing the empty fields, Heng Xīnyán tried coaxing the spiritual energy particles from her surroundings into her lower field but failed as they all ran away. The spiritual energy particles around her were varying in color yet none of them were willing to approach her. kjn
Heng Xīnyán frowned. Opening her eyes under the waterfall, she rubbed her brows. "Why are they not entering?" She questioned yet no one was around to guide her so she had to explore herself.
Heng Xīnyán closed her eyes and tried again. She coaxed many of the spiritual energy particles into her middle field but instead of entering they scattered yet again. With dark eyes, Heng Xīnyán didn't bother to try the last field as it would give the same result. Hence, she stood wondering why she couldn't gather spiritual energy.
Exiting the waterfall, Heng Xīnyán walked around the rich yet strange forest that had no animals for her to search their power to check their method of cultivation.
With a hard furrow between her brows, Heng Xīnyán walked further away from the waterfall. Instead of the trees decreasing, they increased and Heng Xīnyán noticed that she heard a few animal sounds.
However, they sounded strange yet the sound excited Heng Xīnyán. Hence, she continued to approach thinking of gathering her spiritual energy to get the hell out of this strange forest.
Heng Xīnyán paused, the greed in her eyes dimming as she observed the large white snake that wrapped itself around a thick tree branch.
