Seeing the sneer on Heng Xīnyán's lips. Ding Zixin's heart turned cold.
He was hopeful for a second before the dark spiritual energy from the black grass, slowly attacked his mind.
Ding Zixin held his head with pained eyes. His sword dropped from his hand and Heng Xīnyán looked at it. The sword responded and flew in front of her glowing faintly. Heng Xīnyán held the sword handle and Ding Zixin coughed up blood as he experienced a backlash of his spiritual power.
As that sword was linked to him for almost three hundred years, he bonded his soul to the sword. Now, his bond was broken by Heng Xīnyán who held it. She walked passed the screaming Ding Zixin with no expression on her face. Moving her feet calmly she arrived in front of Bàolì Hua who looked at her with a calm face.
"Would you like a sword as a weapon?" Heng Xīnyán questioned, gesturing to the silver sword in her hand.
Bàolì Hua shook her head, "Swords are too common. I want a better and rare weapon to bond and fight with."
Heng Xīnyán nodded, and covering the sword with her red fog, she placed it in her sleeves, "This sword was made with materials of good quality. We will refine it into the weapon you want."
Bàolì Hua nodded.
"Can we change our Hanfu now?" Bàolì Hua asked, looking down at her long red Hanfu.
Heng Xīnyán said nothing as her red fog engulfed them in a cold embrace. Their long red Hanfu dresses changed into something similar to the Hanfu that Ding Zixin wore.
When the red fog dispersed it exposed their newly changed Hanfu.
Heng Xīnyán's new Hanfu was made up of a yi, a narrow-cuffed, knee-length pink tunic tied with a black sash. A narrow, pink ankle-length skirt was worn with a bixi, a length of white fabric reaching her knees.
On her feet was a black pair of knee-length leather boots. She looked up at Bàolì Hua who wore the similar Hanfu but instead of pink, it was forest green in color.
Heng Xīnyán's eyes sent the so-called Enchanted Rose Forest a fleeting glance, before coughing lightly, her hand covering her lips. The forest is no longer green… she realized and her eyes returned to Bàolì Hua.
With a smile to distract her mind, "Is this Hanfu better?" Heng Xīnyán asked and Bàolì Hua nodded, walking with long strides to test out the Hanfu. Satisfied, she heard Heng Xīnyán's voice from behind. "We need to leave before Ding Zixin's Sect comes," she stated and Bàolì Hua nodded. "Let's go but in which direction?" She asked.
Heng Xīnyán paused, "Wait." She went up to the unconscious Ding Zixin. Bending her waist, her white hands searched his sleeves. Taking out a white folded map, she smiled.
Standing, she turned to Bàolì Hua and showed her the map.
Bàolì Hua sent her thumbs up and Heng Xīnyán opened the map.
Her eyes landed on Heavenly Plains near Enchanted Rose Forest and she hummed, "We head north. There is a village called Hu, up there."
Bàolì Hua nodded, "Okay. Let's go."
They started walking over the dead pasture filled with demonic spiritual energy but it did not harm them as they were demons. For five days and five nights, they travelled until they stood on a cliff, looking down at the valley that claimed to be a village.
With a jump, they came down from the cliff and finally, they spotted the village entrance from afar.
"Finally!" Bàolì Hua groaned in relief and Heng Xīnyán chuckled. Over the days, they travelled. They decided to pretend in front of the human souls that they were sisters.
Heng Xīnyán is the troublesome elder sister and Bàolì Hua is the calm younger sister. It happened to be so, because of their faces and aura. Bàolì Hua's aura was cold, allowing no one to approach her. This was because she was a snake, which liked cold places to live in. The same was true for Heng Xīnyán but instead, she had a natural charm that she let out as she was a fox.
However, as they travelled they didn't encounter any danger and Bàolì Hua was somewhat disappointed. No… not somewhat… gravely, disappointed! As she also wanted to improve her strength. Heng Xīnyán benefitted greatly from the Heavenly Dao lightning strikes. Envious, Bàolì Hua also wanted to pick a fight.
Yet, no one was in their way! Oh, how Bàolì Hua was mad. She eyed Heng Xīnyán with a stinky glare and Heng Xīnyán laughed lightly.
"My cultivation level is just at the seventh stage of the Spiritual Cleansing Realm," she explained.
"So?" Bàolì Hua exploded. "I'm at the 5th level!"
Heng Xīnyán patted her head, "Many jealous female cultivators will want to damage your face when you enter the village, so take that chance."
Bàolì Hua: "…"
"This is your advice?!" Bàolì Hua rolled her eyes rudely.
Heng Xīnyán smiled softly, "Yes, is it good?" She had the face to ask and Bàolì Hua ignored her with an angry huff. She stomped away from the female with a flick of her green sleeve.
"Is it not good?" Heng Xīnyán asked, watching the female in green, back.
Bàolì Hua looked back at her with a cold glare. "You never give good advice Heng Xīnyán!" She sneered and Heng Xīnyán gasped loudly from shock.
Heng Xīnyán blinked in shock. She held her chest in surprise as her voice became high-pitched, "Really?"
Bàolì Hua rolled her eyes in anger, "Whatever."
Heng Xīnyán held her pink skirt and she ran up to Bàolì Hua who marched away from her. Meeting up with Bàolì Hua, Heng Xīnyán asked sharply, "Is it true?!"
Bàolì Hua paused, "No, it's not! You give very good advice!" She spat, hoping for the female in pink to leave her alone and it worked like a charm.
Heng Xīnyán sighed in relief, "Of course, I do."
Bàolì Hua whose eyebrow ticked in anger: "…"
Realizing that Heng Xīnyán was just shameless to her bones, Bàolì Hua held the bridge of her nose as she stayed silent.
Heng Xīnyán continued to comb her hair before muttering. "It's the truth though, those jealous female cultivators will come wanting to rip your face off."
Heng Xīnyán's fingers passed through her waist-length hair smoothly.
"I don't care!" Came Bàolì Hua's angry voice.
Heng Xīnyán shrugged, then released her hair and allowed it to flow down her back.
"Okay," She replied.
Soon, they arrived at the village entrance. The two demonic female cultivators almost the same height. Looked at the sign that stood proudly on the stone arch that is the entrance of the village.
[Hu Village]
The strokes of the words were strong and filled with the protective spiritual energy of an experienced Talisman practitioner.
