Chapter 53 - 53. Strong Black Coffee.

The waiter immediately brought some tea for Song Mimi but the old madam dismissed the tea instead.

"She prefers strong black coffee, no sugar."

Song Mimi smiled at the old lady as Lei Xiqi kept her composure.

"You think you still know me well don't you? I didn't think your old brain would allow you."

The whole room went quiet as she said that. Everyone knew she dared talk in that manner but not to the old madam.

"You're still so ill mannered as usual. Didn't expect you to change but don't worry, my brain has never failed me."

Just then the waiter brought the servings for their table as Song Mimi turned to look at the menu.

"Old madam Ling, I specially had these made for you. They're all made from strawberry." Lei Xiqi said as she reached out to serve old madam Ling the first course but Song Mimi pulled it away right then.

"Take it away. Bring what she likes and under no circumstances should you change that." Song Mimi said giving a cold glare in exchange to the waiter as he bowed his head taking the menu away right then. Lei Xiqi though angry but still wanting to impress old madam Ling thought this was her best chance.

"Song Mimi I know you and I have a lot of problems but I don't think you should prevent madam Ling from having what I brought her."

"Of course I definitely have no problem with that..."

Song Mimi said as her coffee was brought to her right away with the new menu.

"... its just that old madam Ling doesn't eat strawberry or strawberry flavoured food or drink. I'm trying to prevent you from killing her."

Song Mimi said as Lei Xiqi's smile disappeared right then as she had already started to loose her opportunity. But she regained that immediately as she saw the figure coming in.

"I see the scars on your body are healing very fast. I thought it would take longer."

Old madam Ling hit the the small bell beside her as the first course begun and everyone tried it out except Song Mimi and Lei Xiqi of course lost in their own world.

"Well I don't plan on living with the memories of your brother forever in my head after all he's rotting in jail." Song Mimi said as she took the cucumber sandwich about to take a bite.

"Are you sure about that?"

The voice made her stop suddenly as she turned right away to see Lei Ming in a wheelchair in his suit all beaten up.

"What's that look on your face honey? You looked very pleased when I was going to jail on the day of the trial. I saw how pleased you were to see the person you actually loved sent to jail and what's more I saw that bossy Song Mimi who captured my heart back then. What happened? Don't tell me she disappeared."

Song Mimi smiled as she turned to Lei Xiqi who was actually calm and having a sandwich with some tea. She got up as she excused the guard behind Lei Ming as she personally pushed him to their table right next to her seat.

"I actually didn't think your family would allow your sister to pull you out of jail. From how it looks your family must be on the verge of going bankrupt." Song Mimi said as she specially poured him some tea.

"Are you sure you're glad to be back? Cause you shouldn't have it in your mind that you're going to torment me." Song Mimi said as Lei Ming smiled and Lei Xiqi chuckled by her words.

"I say my little brother's comeback has already gotten into your head by your words. While I'm here now, you're gonna loose everything Song Mimi."

Old madam Ling sitting there the whole time listening o the chatter sounded the bell for the second course. Just then her attendant brought the papers of her shares over in a display as everyone looked at it. Who ever had those shares would finally be more powerful than Song Mimi or old madam Ling.

Song Mimi not even bothered by them a tiny bit just sat there as old madam Ling gave off a slight proud smile.

"Still so selfless as usual. Your type is hard to find. Aren't you bothered as to who I'm gonna give it to?" Old madam Ling asked as Song Mimi turned to her expressionless.

"You and I both know I'm here only because I'm bothered as to who you give those shares to."

Song Mimi said turning over to Lei Xiqi as she now had shares in her company. If the Lei family wanted to get revenge on her for what she did to Lei Ming, obtaining those shares would give them an upper hand.

"I think I'm fair enough and know whom exactly to give my shares to. Someone who's definitely going to benefit JM Jewels. But I'm wondering why you've not tried the scones and bread. It's very good."

Old madam Ling said as she placed some on her plate. Lei Xiqi just focused on impressing her as she poured her some more tea.

"Madam Ling you shouldn't stress yourself out too much." Lei Xiqi said placing the ceramic tea pot down as old madam Ling took her hand.

"You're too kind young girl. Girls like you have been missing since my time. It's so hard to find your kind nowadays. You'll soon take over the Lei business from your father soon. I was wondering whom he was gonna chose between you and the first son in your family as both of you are good." Madam Ling said as Lei Xiqi pulled her hand away slowly.

"I actually won my father's favour as I signed a big contract with one of our biggest investors. Of course he had to pass the business to me."

Lei Xiqi said as they both agreed laughing together but deep down there was a secret behind her success. Just then Song Mimi received a message from Song Luo.

~Mrs Xiao just got better and woke up.~

She turned off her screen after reading it. Lei Ming looking at her the whole time decided to torment her again.

"Let me guess, Xiao Juhan didn't answer any of your text messages even though you've been trying to get his attention. I heard everything while in jail still you know."

His statement finally made Song Mimi turn to him again looking at his all bruised up face.

"Xiao Juhan's name is a name which should never spill out from your mouth again if you ever want to talk again."

She said as the two looked at each other for a while before old madam Ling cleared her throat loudly to clear the atmosphere.
